Rico has accidently bitten twice; once when he was very nervous on arrival and second time was accidently jumping up in excitement over his lead. We would therefore say teenagers only or adult family at this stage _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!

Rico still tries to grab the lead when you enter his kennel but if you enter leadless he is much much calmer now.
We enjoyed our walk yesterday though he was very excited at the tennis ball Smiler got to carry, I've promised next time he can take one with him |

So Rico had the treat of a tennis ball to carry today, unfortunately it didn't last much past the first stile, having destroyed it and dumped it he then stopped went back to where he'd left it and looked most disappointed it hadn't reformed itself

I don't normally get to walk Rico but i did on Saturday - he has really blossomed in kennels and turned into a lovely little boy
He's a bit on the lively side in the kennels but as soon as we got into the field at the back he turned into probably one of the easiest dogs i've walked for a very long time.
I decided to give him a walk into the village to see what he was like meeting people out and about. We met a really nice lady who actually stopped me to say what a lovely boy he was - he obviously repaid her kind words by rolling on his back to allow her to get down on the floor with him to give him belly rubs Joking apart, he was a fantastic advert for the breed and behaved impeccably - its so important to get the kennel dogs out and about into the real world
We carried on to the stream where he had a dip and a drink and then made our way back to kennels |

I now find if I enter Rico's kennel for reasons other than walkies he is a very calm boy who just wants a fuss and tummy rub He gets excited at the slightest hint of a walk on the cards but as Zoes says once ready he is a really sweet easy boy to walk who muddles along with the other dogs very well.

Rico has decided if sticks are no longer good enough for Humphrey then they are not good enough for him either. Another fun walk with our happy enthusiastic little Rico today

Rico was one of my chosen few to take for a run at Vickys today and boy did he make the most of it
He's such a little character with a huge personality - he's quite a live wire which is why i thought he'd benefit from having an offlead run and boy, did he run......and run.....and run
He absolutely loved chasing the toys....he particularly liked one of Herbies toys that i'd taken up with me, which is a rubber ball with a bell type thing inside which made a noise every time i threw it so have left it at Vickys for future use
I think, other than Minnie, i've not seen a dog run around quite so much |

Rico, Duke Louise and I decided to wander down to the stream today where Rico enjoyed a paddle
he then found himself a promising stick, but found it firmly fixed into the ground

That is a lovely video of Rico and yes that tail never stops - he is only a little one, I am sure someone could squeeze him in their home I think he would also be another dog that would love to join someone jogging. |

Theresa and I thought we'd try a new route today so we headed off with Rico and Humphrey to do some exploring
Both the boys muddled along quite happily together - both walking really well on the lead. Our route was a big success, mainly quiet lanes and then back through a lovely wood which is full of bluebells just waiting to flower and then a bit along the main road - i think they throughly enjoyed going somewhere different and some new smells .
Rico is such an easy dog to walk once away from his kennel - he walks so nicely on the lead that you hardly even know he's there. We passed a couple of dogs en-route and no reaction from either of them |
