Homed

Homing Requirements: Rico needs a level headed and balanced family who will love his cheeky energy and work in harmony with him to build his confidence and secure his trust. Rico is not for live-in children or regular visiting children as his energy is a little too high but he may settle. Rico needs a secure garden and exit management. An only pet as far as we can ascertain.

His Story: Rico was found stray and ended up in a Northern pound. We came forward for him when we were able to hire more kennels in early January. He came in very nervous and now is cheeky! Neutered, vax'd and chipped. Rico is in boarding kennels waiting for his family!

Advert: Rico has a certain Latin feel about him when he dances! He is the size of a small Staffie with a scrunched up little face almost French Bulldog! He needs to be in confident hands as we feel he may not have had the best of treatment in the past as he is a little hand shy and nervous of people on arrival. He has made friends with all the voluntary walkers and is beginning to entertain!

Rico is a little stunning orange brindle boy with a light frame. Rico is engaging and really needs a family to engage his enthusiasm within and on long walks. Jogs would suit him just fine too. Food is a great interest and he has put in a request for an owner who is a butcher; chef or both! Nice try Rico! He takes treats very gently.

Interested in homing Rico? Please click to complete our on-line homing questionnaire to match a suitable dog with your lifestyle.

Please visit Rico's thread on our forum to find out if still available and for fuller details. For daily updates Click our forum link and you will find the full range of dogs available for homing

***PLEASE NOTE: We are a rescue finding dogs their forever homes. We usually ask for a minimum donation of £150 at the time of adoption, for each dog, to help us continue helping homeless dogs***
And a cheeky look from our Rico

See Rico's thread below; Watch his progress through our Rescue
Referral Details: Rico is a brindle and white SBT X male, he is approx 2 years old. He is microchipped and is a very friendly boy who is good with other dogs.  Rico is also neutured and first vaccinated and now in emergency boarding but again if you can help him we can help a poundie.  Rico is VERY food orientated so will be easy to train, he has the cutest little nose I have ever seen, VERY HANDSOME

Rico is awaiting transport to get him and Robbie down to us.

Rico has arrived and awaits his Gatwick South friends.

Our thanks to Natalie and our other friend who gave up their New Years Eve to get Rico into our safe care.

Met Rico today and found him to be a tiny lad... probably 15-16" to the shoulder. Currently very frightened in kennels but will soon learn to trust and enjoy his escapades beyond his kennels.

I brought the very gorgeous Rico home today, for a run in the garden.  He is very nervous in his kennel and shys away from you.  If I didn't know better I would say that this lad has been on the receiving end of a heavy hand before....

He enjoyed his run around the garden and as nearly all our staffy friends, he loves a game of ball!  He still  needs to learn the art of returning it  Laughing

A couple of pics of our new boy...

Rico seems to be setttling in after his lovely outing with Vicky yesterday he greeted me excitedly this morning. Good through the kennel run he's a very busy little lad. He was looking around him the entire walk, I'm not sure what he was looking for, possibly sticks he picked up the odd one but they obviously didn't suit as he dropped them quite quickly. We walked past the sheep and very close to one of the horses, he either didn't notice them or didn't think them worthy of recogition, he was too busy taking everything in.

Once back in his kennel he sat really nicely and gave a paw (or two) for treats, lovely little lad with the most gorgeous face  love10

Rico moved over to Staffierescue and description of him altered as it was suggested he was boxer or mastiff cross. He is a small Staffie and just happens to have a sweet 'button' face.

Brilliant little dog.  He is full of fun, has the sweetest little face and the quickest bottom when you ask him to sit for a treat. When we get to the stiles, he doesn't wait though, he jumps straight over, a real little live wire  Wink

Rico enjoyed his walk with Chinquest. He is a very busy little boy. Seems to be continually looking for something or someone?  could be a home of his own!

I had the pleasure of walking Rico on Saturday Smile

I expected a frightened, nervous little boy but the reality is,  that thanks to the time the other walkers have put into Rico, he is now a confident, bouncy, happy boy just itching to have a home to call his own.

We walked with four of the other dogs and their walkers and he was such a good boy - just loved being out and about. :D

Absolutely adorable Embarassed

Rico was keenly following Humphrey until we overtook him then it was back to searching for 'something'  he still doesn't acknowledge the horses or worry about the Rotties but the very sight of a human being and his little tail doesn't stop wagging. Last week a labrador rushed out of it's garden and came over to give an excited hi, it didn't worry Rico in the slightest (it did me!!).

Today Rico and I walked alone, after his initial excitement in the kennel at the joy of a walk, he settled nicely, looked round to check I was keeping up often. He's patient at the stiles but not one for standing still and posing for photos  Wink
