Homing Requirements: Molly needs a family around her who will be focused on her needs which will involve a good exercise regime and an inclusive lifestyle. Molly needs a terrier proof garden and front door security but will 'stay' when commanded. Molly could be a first terrier owners friend! Could live with another dog and possibly a dog friendly aware cat. Molly welcomes children in her life.
Her Story: Molly was found stray in late pregnancy. She came into foster, producing 3 pups on her first day. Molly is currently living with a Shepherd cross male and her remaining last pup who goes to his home in Mid April. Molly is spayed, fully vax'd and chipped. Molly is fostered in Lindford, Surrey
Advert: Molly is a classic Jack. She is inquisitive but relaxed in a home setting with coming and goings and young children. She mixes well with dogs of all ages and sizes outside and inside of the home, can be initially abrupt but immediately settles and is playful. She is 'alive' out on her walks on an extender and with attention could become off-lead but ideally after a training course for her and her commander! Housetrained and travels well in a car.
Molly is around 18 months old; a super mum in her aloof terrier way! She now is facing her future which is all about her and her needs. She is in excellent health, bright intelligence and would love to live with children and/or another dog but is happy to consider all applicants! Such an affectionate terrier who is ever happy to chill out indoors when she isn't sunbathing in the garden!

Watch Molly's thread below: See her progress through our RescueReferral Details: Hi, I was wondering if there is any chance you could help again! I have a female 1yr Jack Russell. She is white and tan, very pretty and quite small. She has been living with someone for the last 3 months that was hoping to rehome her. She is great with their other dog and 2 small young children but during that time they had a few accidents indoors (NB They had no idea she was pregnant!) They are now finding it very difficult to cope. She is now back in our kennels. She does not need to do a 7 days so can go whenever we can find somewhere. As far as I know she has not been spayed or had any vacs.
Kind regards Emily Animal Welfare Officer
]
Well the story developed a little as after we had Yes we would take her and and I arranged spay for this Wednesday: Emily discovered Molly was in late stages of pregnancy ?2 or 3 pups. Karen and family volunteered to take her in today. Emily arrived to pick her up from the kennels to find she had started labour. Emily decided the best place for Molly to have her pups was with Karen, John, Sebastian, Rhianna and Scooby. She warned Karen and within 30 mins they were both witnessing the start of 'better things to come' As she is guessed at 1 year old we have made today her birthday in the double sense of the word.
Molly came into us very pregnant and delivered her 3 pups on her first day in foster

Longer up date to follow but little Molly has now produced 3 pups. 2 came quite close together and the third took both Molly and I by surprise.
She has had a rough day, poor love, all three were breach and she needed help with two of them.
All snuggled up and resting at the moment - more details later with pictures and vital stats |

A good night for Molly and the pups. All settled well and had a good night
Molly really is such a sweetheart
Given the circumstances since her arrival, she has been very sweet and loving. She pops out on a regular basis for a cuddle and particularly loves to snuggle up with my daughter on the sofa
Those two were taken last night and then this one this morning -
They have become firm friends and Molly is happy for the whole family (one at a time ) to be around her pups and handle them.
Molly has had several trips out around the garden. This was taken quite late last night -
She is so pretty and affectionate
She seems to have taken to motherhood really well -
This one was the first born and I am pretty sure she is a girl. She weighed about 8oz -
The children wanted to call her Flavia
The second born I am pretty sure is a male and weighed in at about 6oz
Herbie is the name the children are keen on for him.
The third born I think is male too, again about 6 oz
The name the children wanted for him has already been taken so a rethink in order
Molly has had two meals today already, gone to the toilet in the garden and settled into her new role well. Bless her she has her work cut out - in this picture she was 'herding cats'

We had another weigh in tonight because I was slightly worred that one of the pups was always going AWOL and never seemed to be able to get to the right place. I have helped out today but really want them to sort it out for themselves. Pleased to say all have gained at least 2 ozs in one day
Molly is now on a tub and a half of Nature Diet a day with biscuits - well she does have her work cut out, bless her. She also couldn't resist asking for some of Seb's tea -
and against house rules he couldn't resist sharing with her
When I look at the size of Molly I am in awe that she has managed to support 3 such big pups - she can have as much as she wants. This little girlie deserves a medal and the very best life can offer - she is not much more than a pup herself, bless her, yet she is proving herself a fab mum |

I have been trying to get some photos of Molly showing what a little beauty she is but she is very busy when out in the garden as she is trying to fit as much in as she can in the short time she is away from her pups. It has been hard to get any pictures in focus
She stills loves popping out for cuddles on a regular basis and always has to come out to see who has arrived. She is sharing her affections with everyone -
I was on the phone to Dee this morning when the postman arrived and Scooby, my dog, barked. Dee commented that Molly didn't join in and I suddenly realized that I haven't heard her bark at all yet. She has had the odd grumble at Scooby, just to let him know where he stands ( ) but other than that she has been very quiet indeed
This last picture made me laugh - spot the puppy

I was a bit concerned about Molly this morning as she didn't come out for her usual cuddles. However, she ate her breakfast and went to the loo in the garden.
She dozed for the rest of the morning and then came out to play later on. She also had a visit from WendyA, who she was delighted to see and let Wendy meet the pups.
Some photos from the garden this morning -
Afterwards we came in and Molly let me brush her before basking in the sun on the sofa
Hopefully the cushions help to put Molly's size into context |

I had the very great pleasure of meeting little miss Molly today - I fell instantly in love She is just so gorgeous, very keen to say hello but so calm, her whole body wags with her tail. I think she was trying to tell me how happy she is with her Auntie Karen When Karen introduced me to the pups she was quite happy just watching us with her lovely trusting eyes.
She appears to have fitted into the Brook family with no trouble at all although Scooby really does need to take some brave pills and let her make friends with him Looking into my crystal ball I foresee plenty of visits from me while she is bringing up her pups |

Lucky Auntie Janet is currently puppy sitting
Molly is a brilliant mum, so calm and attentive. She is tiny and very pretty and her puppies are so much smaller than I imagined
Molly herself is really affectionate and jumped straight onto my knee for cuddles as soon as I sat down. She is a lovely natured little girlie.
The puppies are very cute and their Mum is equally as cute and only a youngster herself.

After a late night last night Molly just couldn't get going this morning -
She did have a burst of energy this afternoon - and her first barks She found my husband clearing up behind her favorite tree. It took her by surprise but after the shock wore off, she was delighted to help him
My dog, Scooby has always been very respectful of terriers and extremely respectful of female terriers. This is the first time he has come across a nursing mother terrier and he decided soon after Molly arrived that this is not something he should mess with bless him
Tonight he did take some 'brave pills' and we had a break through -
He still wasn't quite brave enough to look at her
Given neither of them really had a chance to be meet each other properly before the pups arrived, I think both Molly and Scooby have done extremely well to co exist in the same house without any major fallings out - in fact I think Molly likes having him around when she has to go outside in the dark |

I met this gorgeous girl and her pups yesterday. Oh my goodness, she is adorable. She is super friendly, dashing straight over to me when i came in to say hello. She came up for a cuddle and gave me lovely kisses. She was very relaxed about me meeting her little pups too. I am smitten |

Can't believe that it is week since Molly came to stay with us - so much has happened
I didn't think it was fair to judge Molly as she has been through too much but there are a couple of things that I think we can say -
There was a question mark over her house training. Since she has been here she has only had one accident and that was the first evening. She was running around frantically. I just didn't get to, and open, the door fast enough and she had a little accident on the mat by the door. Since then there has been nothing at all. Overnight she is shut in her little room with the pups and I did leave a pad for her but she has but she has been clean overnight every night. All we have done is make sure we have regular trips out to the garden (and had to persuade her to stay out long enough to do the 'business' before getting back to the pups )
She has been so trusting right from the start, bless her. She is very happy to let us handle her pups and seems to trust us completely.
Here are my children in the 'puppy pen' with her -
She welcomes all visitors beautifully and just adores people. She sees everyone as 'more cuddles' and just loves it. She does seem especially fond of children and is extremely good with them.
There doesn't seem to be any issues with food. I have moved her bowl, added more food and stroked her whilst eating . Although I don't believe in taking the bowl away today she found the remnants of a bone my dog had had in the garden and, without thinking, I took it out of her mouth - again no problems at all.
Molly and my dog are now begining to become friends - this has probably taken a little longer than it should have because my dog has never been comfortable around puppies and is not at all sure what to make of the smell of a feeding mum They are slowly becoming friends and Molly would like to snuggle up to him - its just getting him to stay still now -
He did offer her a toy to play with in the garden this morning so there is hope
Molly does need a secure garden, though, as yesterday she got through a small hole in our fence and had an unscheduled meeting with two GSDs that live next door Although she 'barked first' she ran for cover when they came back at her (said fence now reinforced with chicken wire )
All in all she seems just the most wonderful little girlie who deserves the best life can offer her |

Little Molly has been with us for two weeks now and seems to have settled into family life
She loves Scooby now, even though he is still just not sure When Scooby and I get back from the school run and walk, Molly is just so pleased to see him. She jumps up and licks his muzzle all over - he stands still in shock
Scooby has tried offering her all his toys but we don't think Molly knows quite what to do with them. When Scooby chases a ball in the garden Molly will chase Scooby but not the ball. He finally got her to play tug once but he does a 'grrr' when playing tug and that scared Molly and she did a runner
Although she will try to be the big 'I am' when she is on the sofa, at all other times she is very respectful of Scooby and a little timid.
We are now taking her out for short walks and she absolutely loves it - she gets so excited when she sees her little harness She walks well on the pavement, totally unperturbed by passing traffic of any shape or size.
Although she doesn't appear to know anything basic like 'sit' her recall in the garden is brilliant. One call and she comes flying back. Not sure I would trust her off lead out and about, though, as she does have a very keen nose Perhaps somewhere like a beach with no scents for her to get totally emerged in.
She is spending less time with her pups now. After her walk on Saturday -
'No I am not ready to see them yet'
'No, not ready yet - I am off to hide'
Thanks Molly - think I am capable of making enough mess in my bedroom on my own |

Molly had her first trip in the car yesterday to go and pick up the Panacur (wormer) for her and the pups. Although she couldn't quite jump in, once in she was as good as gold.
We popped her on the scales at the vets - she is a huge 5kg 8g.
As time goes by she is coming out of herself more and more and it is lovely to see her playful nature starting to show. This morning she and Scooby had a very good game of chase all around the garden
She is starting to take on interest in toys but is still not quite sure what to do.
At the moment she still is not a morning girl and certainly doesn't do either wet or cold - its a job to get her to stay long enough to do what is needed
We have met one cat out on our walks - lets just say 'very, very excitable' Last week she was out in the garden and very proudly trotted up with a present for me. She was very confused by my horrified reaction ( little dove)
Little Miss Terrier is certainly in there |
