Homed

Homing Requirements: Bobby needs a family who have confidence in terriers to facilitate him to explore his energy. Bobby needs a terrier proof garden and exit management. A family who enjoys terrier cheeky ways.

His Story: Bobby's family circumstances changed, he was left during full time working hours with no break within the day. Bobby didn't have a garden. He was surrendered as his owner wanted him to have an active, dog centered life. Neutered and fully vax'd

Advert: Bobby a nice steady character who gets excited as terriers do meet people or dogs. He can learn to settle and can develop trust with dogs in the home as he did with a Golden retriever. He was 'nippy' as a young dog doing his welcoming dance. Bobby would love his own garden allowing him to express and explore his energy.

Bobby is a 'Fell Terrier' was cared for him, wanted the best for him but didn't have the lifestyle to meet Bobby's needs. Bobby is 5 years young and has a whole new life ahead to reach his fullfilment. A charmer and entertainer. Bobby arrived just in time to join our group walk today :D What a gorgeous little lad. Very calm around so many new dogs and not very interested in meeting them today. A deer ran across the track in front of us and he wasn't bothered at all. He was also very calm in his kennel when we took him back. Can't believe this little guy will be with us for long.

love4 I met Bobby today - what a little stunner he is. His coat and markings are just beautiful.

He was very unsure about his new situation and a lbit worried by everything going on in the kennels, but he did appreciate the cuddles. Hopefully as he gets to know the routine he will settle (even better if he isn't with us long enough  Wink )

Bobby seemed a little bit at a loss to be out with the big boys - and girls - on the Sunday group walk. Never mind, a little rest and a think help a lot ...

Bobby's just as scrummy as he looks in the pics - *such* a lovely little lad. I really enjoyed walking him on Sunday, it was so easy and sweet to see him pootling along, sniffing all the good smells and showing that lovely terrier curiosity about everything. He didn't enjoy being at the back of the pack and told me in no uncertain terms that he'd be off back to the kennels if we stayed there Rolling Eyes but as soon as we caught up with the other dogs he picked up his feet and trotted along as fast as his little legs would carry him...and that's saying something when he had Bonzo, Kayleigh and Taffy for company Laugh

No question, little dog...great big spirit! He seems a bit overwhelmed by the kennel environment, but he has such a gentle energy. I only realised after I'd tried on a too small harness, got it stuck on his nose and then swapped it for another one that I hadn't given a second thought to how he might respond to some strange lady manhandling him Embarassed but he didn't bat an eyelid.

Bobby dazzler is all I can say!  thumbright

Leaving Bobby at the kennels on Saturday was the hardest thing I have ever had to do and I have avoided this website as I thought it would upset me.  I am so glad I looked at it tonight as Bobby is looking happy and is already getting lots more interaction and exercise than we could offer him.  I am really happy and am hoping very hard that someone offers him a forever home soon.  Glad he is settling in OK and that he is meeting some other dogs.  He isgreat and we miss him loads.  Lovely to hear what he has been up to.

I met the absolutely gorgeous Bobby today. He seems to have settled in very well. Bobby is stunning, with lovely markings. He was such a good boy and waited extremely patiently whilst I struggled to figure out his harness La La La.

I can honestly say, he is an absolute delight to walk. He walks brilliantly on the lead. He had a real spring in his step and loved stopping to have a sniff at all the exciting smells Laugh.

During the walk, an off lead dog rushed up behind him Shocked and he didn't bat an eyelid. What a star! Positivo

I had the great honour of meeting Bobby on Saturday, I picked him up and took him out with my two dogs.   He is such an easy boy, really happy to hop up into the crate in the car, said 'hi' very politely to Lilly and Truly and then settled down for a little snooze while I drove us to our walking destination.   We then had a great walk, he was racing up and down on his extender lead at first, just desperate to run with the others then he realised he couldn't and quite happily settled in for a 2 hr walk.   He was a tired boy when I took him back to the kennels and gave him a hug and a pigs ear, along with a promise to see him on Sunday.

Sunday came and I went to the kennels and collected him again, back in the car and a short drive to a different walking place where we met up with Briony and Zeus (RR foster) and Mbhali.   Every one was really happy to see each other and had another lovely walk.

So, my summing up of Bobby is that he is just gorgeous, really happy to meet lots of strange dogs, no problems with bicycles going past, happy to say hello to strangers if approached - all in all, a really easy, lovely boy who hopefully will find a new home very soon.   I don't know how I resisted taking him home with me, although I did tell him that if he is still in the kennels next weekend maybe he could come to me for a sleepover  Wink

I've not experienced any over the top excitement with him yet when meeting dogs and people, but I've only walked him twice so far.

What a joy Bobby is to walk!  He is a splendid little companion. We just bobbed along (see what I did there?!)  Laugh   at a relaxed pace and he was happy to explore the path and all it's scents. He stayed close and rarely even got to the end of the extender lead I was using.

Bobby was transfixed by the heavy machinery that the forestry men were driving.  I wonder if they seemed like growling giants to him.  He didn't look terrified, but was terribly interested and wasn't sad to leave them behind.  The gunshots from the nearby rifle ranges were particularly loud today.  One shot took us both by surprise and startled him a bit.  Again, he didn't look terrified but was very happy to turn his back on the noise and get to a quieter area.

He does have a spring in his step and I watched him do an impressive little leap up a small embankment - it was as if he had jumped on an invisible trampoline.  Very cute to see.    :D

The great outdoors was particularly muddy today, and when we arrived back at the kennels, I thought I'd wipe Bobby down with a towel.  I don't think he liked it much - but perhaps he just wasn't used to it.  He was about to get mouthy with me, but decided against it and had a treat instead.  Smile   When I sat down at his level he got excited and raced all around me and made me giggle -  :D  A little playful wiggleworm.

Bobby seems to have settled into kennel life a bit more.  He wasn't shivering in his kennel, and seemed a bit more relaxed when I saw him today.  He would make a lovely companion - I just can't believe he'll be in kennels long.  He's so well-behaved and so handsome.

Who will be that lucky forever family??

Took Bobby out again today, another trip in the car and then a long walk with my two dogs and my mum's dog.   He was, once again, a superstar.  We met a lovely couple with their two collies and everyone was very relaxed and happy to say hello to each other.   No problems whatsoever.   He then snoozed on a comfy bed in the car while I did some shopping before I returned him to the kennels.

I told him that he is going to meet some new people tomorrow and to just be his normal self and they will fall in love with him and hopefully whisk him away to a great new life  love1
