Dear Lynne

Just over two years ago, my parents and I adopted Bobby, the Lakeland terrier.  He was about nine years old, and had come from Doncaster.

Sadly today, Bobby had to be put to sleep.   He had been unwell during the night, and my mother took him to the vet this morning.  The vet after a detailed examination, informed her that Bobby was seriously ill as he had internal bleeding and he thought the spleen had burst, but he would  do some blood tests to see if it was worth operating on him.  Unfortunately, the tests proved the vet was right and that if he did operate he would only live another three months and the painful but right decision was made to put him to sleep.  Only a couple of months ago, the vet had said he was healthy dog and could easily live to be sixteen.  Just shows you can never tell what is around the corner.

Mum and I and the Bobby fan club, are gutted at his demise.  He was only with us for two years, but he proved to be everything one wanted in a pet/companion especially when Dad died.

We will be requiring another older lakeland terrier to love, and we will be in contact with you in the near future.

HERE IS BOBBY with Erica who stood there for Bobby should Mr and Mrs Stokes no longer be able to care for him.

Bobby oh how I remember you how your owner was in a nursing home and her son was terminally ill and couldn't offer you a home. YET the son bought you all the way to us and we neutered you the next day..only to find you had and enlarged testicle and so the neutering was a blessing..having saved your life.

Then you went with Erica Mr and Mrs Stokes daughter to join your family who loved you on first sight....

Then sadly Mr Stokes died and what a comfort you were to Mrs Stokes.  Oh Bobby if only you could have had longer .........
