My name is jean started fostering for rescue remedies in july/august. i had a 12 and a half year german shepherd Amber, Leonberger Ozzie 3 years old, both very laid back dogs. Very good for nervous dogs to be with.
I also had 2 giant rabbits Rosie and Dylan(both rescues) , three cats Cola, Sebby and Annie.(2 are rescues all are black)
Amber who had a heart murmer had a stroke on the 19th august, i gave her some days to see if she would recover but she also had bad legs and could not support herself, she was put down on the 23rd. She had been through a lot of the ups and down of my marriage and had always been there for me.
26th august went to check my rabbits Rosie was behaving odd i picked her up and minutes later she was dead.
We had only just started being friends
Ozzie was behaving as if he was pining, but i felt something else was going on, took him to the vets he had a enlarged heart and water in his lungs he was going to die. he quickly went downhill, he wouldnt eat, he could not breathe very well and just laid there gasping. He laid down and died 5 days later. He was my brick made me laugh every day!!
I had a foster dog Rosie who keeped me going without her i dont know.??, but the house was still very empty without the dogs.
Micky was offered to me from his breeder i took him on trial i knew what i wanted but i had to accept i could not have that and get on with what i could have. Micky a leonberger was completely untrained his previous owner had let him round wild in her fields in Wales. He had been starved of affection so he wanted to pin me down and give me wet kisses all the time, also very skinny and covered in scabs with hardly any fur on his body, he used to knock the food bowls out of my hands..He behaves like a 6 mth old puppy steals everything, rips up what he can. He has come a long way in the month i have had him i cant give him back now so he is here to stay.

hi
I am also so so sorry for the loss of yr "babies" my family and I met them (although hubby scared of yr senile sheperd!!)
The Polly dog we have today would not be the dog she is without yr help and we thank you so much for that
She is living the life most dogs only dream about, so much for my not being allowed on the sofa, I sit here currently with 2 cats sitting behind my head and 2 dogs sitting on my lap thinking one is getting more attention than the other! her feet smell, she farts and snores for england but she is ours and ours with yrs and rr's help
Life can be pants at times but you have to remember the amazing life you gave and continue to give your animals x
