Taz update - the first 7 days

Taz still can't quite believe his luck but he seems to slowly and steadily be settling into life in a home. Nights are absolutely fine, no mess and no noise. Days are filled with life!!!!!  Smile

He seems to think the sofa across the middle of our lounge is a mere dog-hurdle during play. I think this is hilarious but we are trying to discourage it!

Taz gets at least 2 walks every day. Three if I happen to pop over around lunchtime too. He's so calm on the lead now, absolutely no pulling; I never walked him at kennels so don't know how this compares but the obedient collie in him is really starting to come through bit by bit!! Very Happy  Apart from, obviously, when anyone walks past, he still wants to say hello, but (again) he's getting calmer. Today we bumped into a couple of friends of mine, and although he was starting to jump up at first, after a couple of tugs at the lead and firm commands, we continued in conversation and he had just sat himself contentedly beside us, watching and listening! Very very good boy, so proud of him.

He's getting good training input now too. Sit, paw, beg and down are nailed.... stay is, coming!!..... and if I make a kiss noise I get a staffie slobber to the face everytime, but not sure that's a trick everyone will enjoy!  Laughing

Below are a few more pics of him settling into the family.

Thanks again to everyone who has given Taz input and a loving start in kennels.

YEAY!!!!! Smile

We all adore our lil tiger. Taz has settled in really well. A new halti has ensured the jumping up at random strangers has decreased massively, and I made a new friend last week who has two rescues (a Samoyed and a Westie) who are about Taz's age so we'll start walking together regularly to ensure more socialisation for our boy.

He's a wonderful family dog - I was packing for a holiday a few weeks ago and he curled up on the sofabed in the room I was using, keeping an eye on me until he fell fast asleep.

Chuffed to bits he's now officially part of the family! Very Happy xxx
