Alfie on great form again today - he's loving those new toys and his bed is so full he can hardly squeeze in alongside them all !!
Alfie has been very clever and has apparently been doing some song writing (and very good it is too, I have a feeling Susiebee gave him a helping hand !!) - I hope you all get to see it on the forum so you don't all think I'm totally mad ! Anyway, here he is 'doing it his way' !!!
Top boy, Alfie ! |

| Saw the adorable Alfie boy on weds, first time since we fostered him last year for 5 months. I can't believe he is still in kennels, he is such a charmer and very handsome! Thanks to Charlie and her cheese (think she told me it was the cheese to help my feelings!) he wasn't too fussed with my arrival - I must say I could have scooped him up and taken him away! Managed to save the tears and draw comfort from the fab attention Charlie gives to Alfie. He seems to like walking with a few of his terrier mates too. So pleased he has his duvet and squeakies, he liked to wrap himself up completely in his blanket and have a lie in some mornings. He soooo loves his toys too so I hope they bring him some comfort, he holds a special place in my heart ... really wishing for that loving home again SOON x |

Sounds as though Alfie has been having a fine time with lovely visitors this week. Bless his little heart.
Last week he stepped in to help with the GN walkers newsletter and penned his own homing song and I've been asked to add it to his thread.
So with a silent prayer that this doesn't land Alfie or myself in court for plagiarism here it is.
Alfie's Way
(To the tune of "My Way")
I pray, my home is near
And so I'll place a final caption
My friends, I’ll say it here
I’ll state my case for my adoption
I want a life that’s full
To travel each and every highway
And more, much more than this,
I’ve waited my way.
Regrets, I’ve had a few,
But then again, I am a terrier
I did what terriers do, we are our own people but furrier
I’ve tried each winning look, I’ve walked so well along the byway
But more, much more than this, I’m waiting my way.
Yes, there were times, I’m sure you knew
When I took treats, more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was cheese
I ate it up, I sat to please
I faced it all and I stood tall and waited my way
I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried
I’ve had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
Oh no, oh no, not me, I waited my way
For what is a dog, what have I got
If not a home, than I have naught
To sing the hope, I truly feel, catch the eye of the homing team
My record shows, I’ve been so good,
I’ve waited my way.

Alfie's back. He enjoyed a few days pampering and then enjoyed a lovely long journey together with me via the vet hospital to collect Ada then on to Chinquest's to deliver Ada, followed by a lovely stroll in the woods. I am always mesmerised by Alfie I love every mannerism Sadly he was too hard wired for his fosterers, love him as they did, they felt out of their depth.
