Benson was spoilt for choice today as I brought along Leesa, both the kids and Tia. Of course, he headed straight for the kids and was on his back rolling around before we'd even began walking, much to everyone's amusement The kids were a little concerned when we first arrived as Benson wasn't in his kennel, they really look forward to seeing him and always want him as the first walk.
Leesa headed off in front with Tia with the rest of us walking behind, first stop was of course the stream where he spent ages paddling around. Toward the end of the walk it was clear that both dogs were very relaxed in each others company so we gradually let them walk closer until they were eventually walking side by side and saying the occasional hello to each other.
We stopped off in the field for to give them some treats and they both waited patiently for their turn, no competing whatsoever. Neither showed any signs of wanting to play but they were quite happy lying beside each other while the rest of us had a breather.
As always, Benson was an absolute pleasure to walk. I thought he might have been a bit 'pulley' having another dog on the walk but he was so well behaved, always walking to heal and constantly looking up with those big loving eyes.
We all adore Benson, he is such a gentle giant and will shine given a good home and loving owners.

I see Benson is going to become known for being laid back. We had a chill out in the field today.
and some goofing around in the stream, he's learnt 'wait' and that I need to go down the muddy bank gingerly so he took great care of me today.
Plus a lovely soppy face as he waited for a treat.
He's such a big softie. Lovely Benson. |

Benson is as gorgeous as ever - if a little subdued in the recent hot weather....
He is a popular boy and has been walked at least twice a week - the mystery is why he is still waiting for his home |

First time I've seen Benson for a few weeks and what a welcome, didn't think he was ever going to stop bouncing
We had a really nice walk, he was feeling very affectionate, even got some huge face licks from him We spent quite a long time just sitting in the field mucking around, he is such a pleasure to be with and adores human company. Leaving him back in his kennel gets harder every time, took me ages to say goodbye to him today

My daughter was visiting this weekend and rather than go shopping in Bromley she asked if we could go and take a dog for a walk. Not only surprised I was very pleased! We didn't arrive until mid-afternoon so decided to take Benson for a nice long, leisurely stroll.
He was on his best behaviour and is such a leisurely walk. He only gets a bit excited at the sight of other dogs when walking past them in gardens.
When we got back close to the kennels we all sat down as the sun was pretty warm and Benson laid down next to me and went properly to sleep (after a few treats of course)!

| Walked Benson for the first time today, what a lovely boy! Easy to harness, no pulling on the walk - hope Susiebee has pictures - and the chance to admire his tummy when we paused. Can so easily see why he's a favourite and also why so many walkers are amazed he hasn't found a family yet. |

I do indeed have a photo. Peter was a hit with Benson who thought he was marvellous. In return Peter commented that he thinks Benson is a big, friendly, daft boy. Benson is so affable he didn't mind and also secretly I'm inclined to agree although it just makes me love the funny boy all the more.
Benson has so much love to give, it is going to be such a happy day when he finds his forever people to share it all with !
As Peter mentioned Benson did the GN dogs proud by giving Peter his best 'show quality' heel. He can walk so nicely it can feel as though there is no longer such a lovely tall boy at the end of the lead and I often find myself looking down to check he's still with me.

Lovely autumn afternoon and the wonderful companionship of Benson. I had a really great time.
He seemed tolerant of the horse's presense.

Lovely walk with the gorgeous Benson today. Sadly I've lost my camera so no photos but with any luck Charlie may have caught him.
He was very taken with Alfie and soon each time Benson decided to roll around on the grass Alfie copied.
Charlie was very amused with how well Benson has learnt that I am rubbish on the slope down to the stream - he walks down really slowly and gingerly. Although he has learnt the point on the slope where I feel safe and we usually leap that last few inches of bank to get to the water.
One day I am going to fall in the river and I just know Charlie will be waiting with her camera. But until that day my lovely boy Benson takes care of me. He's such a good boy and walked to heel nearly all the way round today.
I love being out with him and I think he will learn really well once he finds his forever home. He is so eager to please, seems to really listen and understand and when he looks up with those big brown soppy eyes.....move over George Clooney !
