5th Nov 09 Thursday Picture of the day
Mr Bing..with plenty of Zing, welcome we're sure you wont be with us long!

Stories of the day: Tiffany and Mr Bing came into our care, via our vet for check and vax. Various leads being followed. Lots of chats about what we can offer Tia to get her out of kennels but still no options though our vet has prescribed a calming medication.
Fireworks ...so the dog world is alarmed.

6th Nov 09 Friday Picture of the day

Tracey had nearly 2 hours walk today JUST what the Dr ordered!

Stories of the day: Voluntary dog walkers have been out in force..oh how I love Fridays to know our dogs are having individual love and care.  Dee was determined today...and by the end of the day..Iris; Polo and Evette all reserved and being met tomorrow. Lynne feeling virtuous having spent the day catching up on a huge pile of paperwork. Sharon chipping away as ever to get our dogs seen and snapped up! Squirrel has leaped out of her tree; visiting a different forest for a few days.

8th Nov 09 Sunday Picture of the day
Tiger Lily gained her 'Dogerate' becoming a Drs assistant.

Stories of the day: Tiger Lily at last may you settle into your new life with ease. Jessie and Buddy swaped kennels. Arnold and Eddie came back on to our books with both owners trying to retain them for as long as they can to avoid kennels. Both are very fluent dogs. Agreed to take on a 3 yr old Rottie male; 3 yrs old.

Dee didn't win the Euro jackpot but yes Rescue Remedies won our £10 for our dogs!

9th Nov 09 Monday Picture of the day
A picture from yesterday that has stayed with me all day. Becky..fantastic little sweetheart..it will be worth the wait when you are truly embraced by your forever owner and walked off into the sunset. It was close yesterday..lets hope even closer today!

Stories of the day: 3 dogs on to our books today..Trevor a 3 yr old Rottie with very little training; Gracie Staffie 7 month pup with nothing given to her but misplaced love and neglect and Elsdon the same kind-of story but he has had 2 weeks of opportunity that has revealed him as a worthy wonderful sort of guy! Blake's eye is more or less healed phew! just caught it in time..I thought he may lose his vision in that eye. (Tiger) Lily has settled in well in her new routine..just missed another intro. to 'winter in kennels'. The frosts have appeared and our hearts go immediately out to our kennelled dogs as we wake every morning.

This and that happening..and prep. for several fundraising events under way. Tweetering and tweeking!

Reserved Minx

10th Nov 09 Tuesday Picture of the day
Tiffany poor love in rescue; in kennels and now dental with removal of 4 teeth; and spay. She'll soon pick up she wins everyone's heart who meet her. Here she is meeting a light brown dog on her walk a few days previous

Stories of the day: Dominated by making the decision to put Trevor (Formally called Trigger!) an incoming Rottie to sleep. His owner was stopped from doing it 4 days previous by a rescuer being in the vets when he came in. However the truth was he had grown up with owner, first time dog owner, who thought he'd get a ready made dog after waiting 2 yrs; but realised he was out of his depth when his lack of training and socialisation meant he was kept in his garage and only walked at night. The very well meaning rescuer.. hoped a rescue would bring him through but couldn't find a Rottie rescue to take him on. We agreed; but when I arrived at the vets everyone had white faces and basically one very scarred Rottie with an owner who had left to boarding a flight to go 'back home'. Bless him he wasn't going to transit through into rescue and develop trust of well meaning strangers.

11th Nov 09 Wednesday Picture of the day
Tia at rest..yes Tia that is a soft bed and radiator!

Stories of the day: Tia went into foster today oh how she needed it. Thanks to Secret Squirrel and Karen. Mr Bing and Gracie were neutered and chipped today.Russell hitched a lift and when all was settled he and I flew over to Godalming area to meet Alfie and his new family. Tiffany is being met for possible foster tomorrow.

Dee and I are flagging under the pressure of people trying to move their dogs on 4 weeks before Xmas! Pounds are not getting the rescue places dogs are being to be needlessly put to sleep as they have 'no room in the Inn'
