I was thinking about when we used to do a 'Harvest' hamper when i was at school and i thought that a Christmas Hamper appeal might be a good thing to launch.

I wasn't thinking about anything fancy, just if you are out shopping for prezzies for you own dogs and family, why not just add an extra toy into your basket so that the kennelled dogs have something to look forward to??

I am sure that they always need blankets, towels and duvets too (hopefully someone will correct me if i am wrong) so if anyone is havine a clear-out of their cupboards, can they please save these items so that the kennelled dogs can have more comfort and warmth as the weather gets colder??

If there is any specific stuff that is needed, maybe some of the walkers etc could post it here??

there is always a need for more specialist equpment, such as haltis etc. TRPD run a repair service for rescues, so if you've anything you could donate which needs a little TLC, I can get this sorted.

Bedding and towelling is always in short supply, and the easier we make it for the kennels we use, the more likely they are to continue to offer us preferential rates.

Some really heavy duty chew toys would be useful - something they can really get their teeth into. It would be nice to set up a hamper for each kennels .....

I have collected various stuff from freecycle and family, some small beds, 5 big blankets, toys (some used and new) and I would be happy to drop them off. I'm near junction 9 of the M25. Soon would be good as the car boot is getting a bit full!

I'm up for helping with this, I was actually thinking about running a Christmas fund, maybe a raffle or something along those lines, but I will get some strong chew toys in and see what else I can round up too, try and get some friends involved!

Just glad it can be off use...Have had the promise of more stuff next week and will keep collecting.

Also, spoke to reclaimingrebus about any specific equipment needs eg the halti collars, and am going to try and do some blagging from companies. If any of the frontliners have specific requests please pm me and I'll see what I can do Very Happy
