I am a bit of a worse Mum than Jilly as Iris has been mixing with Lucie, despite her cough They are both having collidal silver in their water to hopefully prevent it from passing from one to the other. Her cough still sounds bad but she is coughing less often now that i have taken her collar off I get a bit paranoid about leaving dogs without a collar and tag on, even in the house!!
Lucie changed her mind about Iris in a split second this morning! She went from grumbling at her to thinking she was her best mate and they have been playing most of the day!! They are both having a lovely time (the cats still aren't impressed though!!)
Iris saw the rabbits this morning and was again interested but not in an agressive way. I think she has the instintg to chase of they moved quickly but not in a harmful way.
She doesn't seem to understand stairs. She is getting the hang of the ones that go up but is still baffled by the ones that go down!! My Mum is patiently trying to teach her how they work
Thanks for all the praises for our home everyone, if only you all knew the truth At least it's better than kennels...slightly and should give her the chance to get better |

I've been there and I know ... a lovely home and a million times better than kennels ... have you been drinking Tina?!!!
If anyone has seen Tina's Lucie they can vouch for how wonderfully trained she is and such a great dog with a wonderful personality. Tina has brought that out in her ... don't let her kid you! Iris will learn heaps during her time with Tina & Lilian believe me!
Tina is just being bashful this evening! _________________ SHARONR - ADMIN

I am over the moon that little Iris is with Tina D - can't imagine a better place for her
So pleased that her cough is getting better - hopefully the medication and attention she is getting is all kicking in and she wil be fighting fit in the blink of an eye
Lovely girl, in a lovely foster home, with the lovely Lucie to teach her the ways of the world - just needs the forever home to make everything complete |

The only reason I am not mixing dogs at the moment with little Suzi is because my mum is 80 next week and I am going down with my gang of dogs. I don't think it would be fair if I took kennel cough down to her as she has the lovely Evie. So I promise nothing to do with being a good mummy just trying not to spread to mums dog.
I would love them all to mix but am trying to keep at bay for mums sake. However, you know what will happen. They will all go down with it no matter what.
Suzi has a lot of company with us adults and the dogs all know they are in the house when we do the time sharing shifting around for toilet runs.
Suzi still absolutely delightful. Back to the vets on wed for a check up about tummy. Hopefully some very good news for her as well. Report later.
Sharon told me you were a great fosterer Tina and I believe everything she says so lucky little Iris. |

Hi Tina how is Iris, feeling better I hope. She looks so sweet, its horrible when they are not well,I do look everyday to see how she is doing. Thought you also would like to know Boycie is doing really well and brings me the post, he even tries to open the letters for me and obviously gets a little peckish as he also has a chew round the corners and edges.

Jilly: that does make me feel better, and less neglectful!!!
Sharon: i was just thinking about Boycie this morning!!!!! I am glad he is doing well. If his post habbits get to much for you, you can always send him to me??
Iris seems to be doing much better. Her cough sounds as loud but is MUCH less frequent!! Her stitches came out yesterday and it is all looking good. Although Iris is very lively when exciting things are happening (walks, food, people comming in), she is calm at other times. She is sleeping off her walk by my feet right now.
She has learnt a good few things already while she has been here:
1) If you sneak downstairs at night, you get a much more comfortable bed on the armchair, instead of the nasty dog bed
2) Honey actually tastes nice and helps a poorly throat and is not the work of the devil as was first thought (medicine and tablets ARE still the work of the devil and must be avoided at all costs!!)
3) The doggie toy-box holds LOADS of delightful things!
4) "jumpy-up" dogs do not get fed first, their leads on first or more attention. Those things come to dogs with all four feet on the floor (she does forget this one when things are REALLY exciting!)
5) Cats and rabbits are NOT for chasing but birds in the park are
and her biggest achievement of all?...
Stairs are not scary and are actually quite easy to work!!!!
Her recall is getting better and she now comes back about 99% of the time (don't worry, she is still on a long lead!!) she is getting better on the lead but does still pull (i think she just likes to be in front all of the time, even when she has no idea where we are going). She doesn't seem to be phased by anything-even donkeys that we met on Sunday!!! She doesn't seem to mind loud noises like fireworks (although we haven't had any really big ones yet) or traffic and just seems to approach everything with a lovely happy smiley face! |

Lovely up date and so pleased to her that little Iris is doing so well
Fish paste smeared all over the tablet works quite well - am sure you will have loads in your cupboard |

As I discovered last night with Rhianna tablets in cheese get spat out and the cheese eaten off the outside of the pill. However, a pill at the back of her throat with a piece of cheese popped in her mouth straight after forces her to swallow in order to be able to chew the cheese. Ha! Out smarted Rhianna! Normally it takes me a while to out smart her, not sure if she is particularly bright or I am particularly slow.
Glad Iris is doing so well, she is sweet. |
