During a loving session with Kathy on the sofa Kathy caught and bruised Fiona's daughter's face. The daughter was fine about it but went and had it checked out.
Kathy goes into Farnham kennels tomorrow. I had to choose between Monty with his skin condition; chronic ear infection and later part of kennel cough and Kathy who is 3rd week of her season and has had a rotten life. Kathy will be fine. As soon as Monty is homed I'll have her out! _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier!

Kathy seems to have accepted kennel life and resigned herself to it. She will be having her weekly baths and is having her skin treated.
She came out for a walk today and all I can say is what a lovely dog - easy on the lead (no lead chewing today ) Tomorrow she is having a day out with Janet - will do her the world of good |

I've been really looking forward to taking Kathy out for a nice long walk - she looks so fed up in her kennel.
We took her for a walk around the woods before we set off - no lead biting again, quite strong on the lead for a few minutes and then easy to walk. She was very interested in chasing a few squirrels and generally have a good look around.
Then we went out for a ride in the car to a nearby common - she settled down very quickly and sat on my mum's knee on the back seat. No trouble at all.
We had a lovely walk. We met a large bouncy pointer who wanted to play - Kathy wasn't interested in playing, but they sniffed each other for a bit - all very good natured.
We did a bit of running together and I tripped over a tree root and fell over - Kathy came running straight back to me, looked at me, licked my face and rolled over next to me for a tummy tickle . I think she was worried about me
We ate our sandwiches in the car - although she was interested in them, she waited patiently until she was given some, and she takes food very gently.
When we got back, she went straight back into her kennel with her chew. It's such a shame that she's got used to being in there on her own Another very beautiful girl who deserves some love

Kathy's sad face has gone! I was greeted with a happy, smiling one this morning. I think she was pleased to see me.
We had another lovely walk - she's a good companion, and makes cute little snorting noises when she walks. She pulls a bit to start with, but after a few minutes, you hardly know she's there.
For the first time today, she jumped up in the kennel to watch me leave.
I hope she doesn't have to stay in kennels for long cos she'd make someone a faithful and loyal friend. All she needs is a bit of love and attention. |

Kathy is continuing to do so well. She is such a little love. Her fur is growing back so well and she is filling out. As Janet said, such a pleasure to walk and generally be with |

Kathy has a sponsor!
The Animal Medical Care Foundation put Frank & Kathy up for virtual adoption on their website a little while ago. Kathy's thread: http://amcf-adoption.weebly.com/kathy---rescue-remedies.html.
This means that the AMCF members are able to sponsor the dogs and assist with their care and medical costs. Obviously a great help to us and a fantastic initiative!
Astrid has very kindly agreed to sponsor Kathy and she is our first AMCF sponsor. Wonderful news, thank you Astrid! _________________ SHARONR - ADMIN

Yes she does! She seems to think she's some sort of a bloodhound - when I walked her today she kept putting her nose down to the ground sniffing and snorting as she walked. Then she'd come up for air before she was nose down sniffing again! |
