@Sal... I'd love to see them in action. I bet it's poetry.
You've made me smile at your description. I think part of the knack of having an obedient dog is knowing - as you clearly do - what sends them off... that way you issue the command *before* the distraction happens. I suspect a lot of obedience is about being in tune and anticipating stuff before it happens. It would account for why some people say this dog is perfect, walks nicely and listens to everything I say and others return having been dragged through every hedge. I think some dogs and some people just hit it off and some don't. So it's kind of a matter of finding the right pairing.
