Homed
Homing Requirements: Wyatt needs a terrier aware home where he has confidence flowing through his lead as he meets other dogs and he settles into his terrier-tory. Wyatt needs to live with another dog not necessarily another terrier. Wyatt is used to living with older children. Secure garden and exit management regime essential. Can be left for short periods. Car travel needs management.
His Story: Wyatt was found stray as a young dog in Wales. Wyatt has been homed with a Jack Russell and children for 18 months. He is losing his home as his owner can only offer him a short walk after at the end of the working day and he needs a more active lifestyle. Neutered; chipped and vax'd. Still within home in Hemel Hempstead.
Advert: Wyatt is a Parson Jack Russell dog with a lovely temperament; be it a terrier temperament. He will delight a terrier lover with his enthuse for life and fun. Wyatt enjoyed a basic training course and apart from getting jumpy when people and post arrives, he is great indoors and has learnt to meet dogs outside when guided towards gentle intros. Wyatt can get sick in the car if fed before and can dribble but not a serious problem. He has been around very young children and has enjoyed meeting them just needs supervision to keep 4 paws on the ground. Not for live-in very young children but great for visiting.
Wyatt is such a good looking terrier. He is spirited but his nature is kind,so very kind. Wyatt needs 6' panel fencing and high gates as he can jump. He also is best crated overnight as occasionally can lay a parcel without. He is a tender soul who is very loving and providing he gets regular walks and occupation he is a great family pet. A terrier owner will delight and he will easily mix with another dog and is what we wish for him. Wyatt needs this to help keep his energies in check. Wyatt is supreme and will be truly loved for sure!

Please visit Wyatt's thread: and watch his progress through our Rescue Referral Details: his dog to go..so he comes to us /b rough coat terrier x boy, about 11 months old. He loves to show off his tricks. What a complete darling! _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
Wyatt came into our care yesterday. Very handsome boy, very affectionate and not reactive to dogs. He managed to climb over his kennel and join Monty on the lawn. I separated them as I was on my own and didn't chance an altercation but their energies were receptive to one another. Wyatt just wanted to be in with the action..he now has a kennel with a hat on! Lovely boy who received a lovely welcome from Hayley from Farnham kennels.
He is a medium sized terrier about 16-17" to the shoulder. We're convinced he is from the same litter as Peaches who we rescued at Christmas having been rescued same area and the looks are identical only now older and mature _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
He does look like he hasn't quite grown into his paws yet but so beautiful. He has that wonderful child like enthusiasum that means that the world is a great place and everything and everybody is just there to be loved
On our walk he was very playful and very interested in everything. There was a bit of jumping up and lead biting but it was all very playful. He is just one of those dogs that will make you smile I think we are going to have lots of fun together (and try and do a little training too )
I, somehow, think this is one little boy who won't be with us long
Wyatt has a vets appointment on Friday for his first vax, chip and check on his castrate wound.
Such a clever boy, he has already sussed the routine out and was ready to set off on his adventures this morning.(I do think he should be called Snowy, after Tintin's dog - he really reminds me of him ) Whilst out he waited beautifully while I had a chat, first sitting then just lying at my feet. If I moved he got up ready to go, if carried on chatting, he settled himself back down again. Very sweet
Several times today he turned to nudge the lead - I am begining to think he doesn't like it resting on his side or back.
Wyatt has been coming along in leaps and bounds this week (although we have been trying to discourage the leaps ) After the initial excitement of coming out of the kennel, he settles nicely and is very easy to walk and I really enjoy his company. I think we have now mastered 'sit'. It is quite hard to test his recall as he won't go far away anyway and if I rustle anything in my pocket, he is back like a shot He really does love having his kisses and cuddles
When he comes across something new, his reaction is to stop and go 'eek' (well, look eek, anyway) and then look to you for reassurance. Once given he will investigate - carefully
We went to the vets today and he was as good as gold as he was jabbed and chipped - just lay quietly throughout. His wound is healing well and the stitches are disolvable so have been left in place. He wasn't at all sure about the car so I am guessing this is something he is not used to. I had to lift him in and then I left him to decide where he wanted to sit. I quickly excluded my lap for him and so he chose to strech out along the back seat. He stayed there quietly throughout. Although he wasn't totally comfortable, he didn't cry or be sick so I believe that it is just a matter of him getting used to it.
I have made an appointment for his booster in a couple of weeks but something tells me he won't be around to keep it
Lovely update and pics from Wyatt and family. He is doing so very well.

Martine. x
Just look at how happy he looks :
Now hasn't that just warmed your heart ???????????? LOL
Had a great chat with Martine this evening. Wyatt is doing well and the family have adjusted to his slightly less than perfect status. He responds to other dogs as terriers can no harm meant nor taken with most and family are learning to engage him into positive encounters and building up friendships with dogs outside. Attends regular training sessions. His exciteability when people arrive is managed via crating then introduced once calm achieved. Delighted with the ongoing work Martine and her family are putting into Wyatt and bravo for their stickability!
Wyatt is actively looking for a new home. His energy and terrier credentials are a little to keen for his current family to manage. _________________ You can't train the terrier out of a terrier..they are their own persons!
Wyatt is getting more responsive every week; he is always happy and friendly and loves being around people.
He is a bit of a wind up merchant when it comes to Cass and loves to play all the time. She is quite able to put him in his place and he is rather hen pecked and knows who's boss.
He is also getting better off of the lead and loves going for long walks; there are even signs of obedience starting to creep in, although there is still a long way to go on that front.
