Homing Requirements: Benny needs to live with at least one other dog. Benny can get flustered with direct approaches so not to live with children and supervision of visiting dog savvy children or kept separate. Benny needs owners who understand the ways of Lurchers and offer him confident direction.

His Story: Benny found himself in kennels around Feb 2010, sharing his kennel with other dogs. He got concerned around kennel staff approaching him perhaps the wrong handler affected him. He was passed on to a rescue, but didn't quite fit their criteria and found himself travelling into our care and safety net. Benny had 3 months in foster but bit an over confident dog handler, so returned to kennels. Kennelled in near Farnham

Advert: Benny is a young Whippet Lurcher. He didn't receive kind and confident handling as a pup and is now learning loving interaction in his early adulthood and has come far.  He needs support in new situations and given space and time he soon comes around. He has a joy about him and a very loving playful nature. His fosterer was over joyed  "As he settles, Benny's lovely comical character is coming out more and more. So much in life fills him with joy. From being let out of his crate in the morning to meals, walks and training time, he loves it all. He adores toys, especially squeakies, and will play with them happily on his own. He can make them squeak (endlessly!), throw them around or pounce on them. But best of all is if a human will play with him too."

"...we've been letting Benny off lead. His recall is perfect, in fact he doesn't stray far, and if you have a "chuck-it" and a couple of tennis balls he is totally focused on fetching, to the exclusion of everything else. I suspect that he'd go off after squirrels if there were any around, but am sure he would come back fairly quickly. When we meet other dogs he has perfect manners, although he won't let them near his ball! Typically he can be an opportunist with food left in reach! He has a speaking voice which he used to relate his take on life, which is very amusing. Benny is enthralled with life and activity, but also settles to watch and muse on the broad spectrum that life offers. If Benny had been female we would have called him JOY”!

Please visit Benny Lurcher DOB 08 Farnham Kenns to find out more about him and follow his progress.

Homing requirements: Sweetie needs a family who identify with her special needs as a blind puppy. She needs guidance with touch, voice tone and direction. Above all her owners will need to anticipate any dangers for her within and outside of her home environment. She can fall into spinning as a self stimulation mannerism either when excited, bored etc. Her spinning lessens the more she is occupied and settled. Ideally to live with another receptive dog who will relate to her puppy advances and provide a focus on her walks.

Video: Sweetie our little blind puppy feels and hears her way on her walk

Her Story: Sweetie was 'handed in' as 'found'. The dog warden was convinced it was her owner. Sweetie obviously couldn't go into kennels as this would be especially disturbing for her so he took her home overnight awaiting our research for an emergency foster place. Sweetie is now in a foster place with another dog who is proving tolerant of her and they are playing together. Fostered in East Sussex.

Advert: Sweetie is a puppy who is trying to make her way in life without or with very little sight. She accepts guidance and tutoring really well. She is intelligent and keenly attuned to sound and touch to support her engagement in acceptable and meaningful activity. Sweetie is housetrained providing she has easy and regular access to a garden. She needs a quiet household where she can learn to orientate herself and needs another dog ideally who is receptive and supportive of her company.

Sweetie is a young smooth haired Jack Russell with all the 'fun of a Jack puppy’ but with a bit of confusion in engaging in new situations, learning what is acceptable in her situation and expected of her. She walks well on an extender with her leader being her eyes and ensuring she doesn’t hurt herself on bracken, or stumble into the road, objects and ensuring she is received well if she enters another dog’s space. Sweetie loves her cuddles. She seeks and needs a lot of reassurance as life is especially challenging for her but she is learning to trust and move forwards with confidence.

Homing Requirements: Tia needs a caring family who understand we're so lucky to still have Tia. Tia has emerged from a poorly state with residual limitations in her back knees which no longer need operative intervention but carries residual discomfort which needs respecting hence no live in children and supervision around children as they could trigger pain. Tia also needs carpeted floor surfaces to prevent her slipping. Tia could live with another fluent dog or as an only dog. She is not for cats. Moderate exercise regime with adult management as she can rarely get spooked by certain people/ strangers outside, for reasons only known to Tia.
Video:Tia on the common

Video: Tia and Ben

Her Story: Tia was Rescued by a devoted owner but he succumbed to cancer at a very young age and was forced to give Tia up as he moved back with parents. Tia came to us as a sick dog and we have since had her spayed curing her chronic pyometra which was life-threatening. We have also operated on her back knee. Tia is now ready for her home be is on low dose anti inflammatories and a gentle life style to suit her age. Tia is vax'd and chipped and fostered with another dog in Addlestone Surrey.

Advert: Tia Mia..Yes she is sweet and addictive. Tia is an accomplished easy Rottie who needs an environment geared to her requirements which is a moderate exercise regime, quiet life style, freedom from active or kennelled holidays. If your mind set is older Rottie then her management will be well served. She is house trained, and can be left for up to 5 hour spells, she can sleep downstairs and doesn’t need access to furniture. Tia could live with another quieter fluent dog. Tia has the habit of a low growl when you are fussing her, which isn't sinister and once her fosterers demonstrate, you can learn to be comfortable with her foibles. Tia can travel short distances in a car but needs support in and out to protect her knees, she also can be sick on longer journeys.

Tia is a small 7 years old Rottie with an easy approachable disposition. She isn't guardy over her house or food but a little, understandably, over her knees which has lessened as she has moved through into a pain free life. She mixes with dogs well. Meets people and children well but can get spooked and show concern very occasionally when out walking which again is lessening as time goes by. Tia would love a Rottie home to offer her shelter and comfort in her latter years
