Thank you to everyone who looked after my handsome boy!! He certainly looks like he has had a great time, when we finally got to my mums he was very excited but probably not as much as us!!
We went for a walk to Bedfont Lakes this morning where he met a 14 week old pup and he laid on the floor for her to climb over him - such a good boy
Thanks all x

Hi all
thought I'd let you know Cooper has been castrated today, he is wandering around the garden now looking very sorry for himself and I'm wondering how we will be able to keep him on the lead for 10 days!! Oh well I'm sure we'll manage.
Since we have come back from holiday my cats seem fine with Cooper and even our old boy - Tigger was rubbing up against Cooper this morning, he must have had an idea what was going to happen and obviously felt sorry for him!
Cooper is such a good dog, we can now leave the cat food down all day and he won't touch it, he mixes well with all dogs we meet at Bushy Park but he has found swimming a bit difficult. He loves the water but every time he goes out of his depth he just sinks and scrabbles along the floor until he can stand again! I have never had a dog that did not automatically know how to swim.
So far he has chewed nothing in my house but we took him to my sisters in Godalming, we went out for dinner and when we came back he had chewed a trainer to pieces! My sister was very understanding and Cooper had no ill effects from eating half the trainer.
Once he grows a bit more I will post some more pics

Hi Cooper is still doing very well, he has had a bit of a rough week as he is learning that not all dogs want to play with him!! A large black lab went for him at paws and this week several other dogs have given him stern warnings. So it has been a big learning curve this week which has effected how he approaches other dogs now. He now waits with his tail down until they approach him, after sniffing if they seem friendly he trys to play, if not he runs after me. Its quite funny to see a big lad running from a JRT.
He did once go back and bark at the dog that went for him but with a quick reminder from me that thats not the best choice he came away!
He walks beautifully on the lead and considering he is only 8 months old is a very respectful pup. He sometimes forgets himself in the house and will try to challenge by barking and jumping at you, if he disagrees with you, but as soon as you stand up and remind him thats not appropriate he quickly returns to respecful Cooper.
Here he is with Honey when she was here.
I keep forgetting to take the camera out on his walks but will try to remember this morning. _________________ If you can't decide between a Shepherd, a Setter or a Poodle, get them all ... adopt a mutt! |

Cooper is a lovely lad. We were at Paws when the big black lab went for Cooper. The lab was not neutered, and with Cooper only recently being old enough for his op, maybe the lab could still smell testosterone as I am told that it takes a while to get out of the system.
We also saw Cooper meeting our JRT and showing very nice manners, even to the extent that he washed Moss' ears for him. I think he is a sweetheart. |

Thought I'd post some more pics of Cooper
In this pic he is surrounded by the destruction he created in the garden, but he looks very pleased with himself!!
Here he is in his favourite position in the car on the way to Bushy park.
On Saturday at my mums he had a bit of a temper tantrum when I wouldn't let him play and chase the swing ball with the children. He started to growl but with some very firm and calm handling he did relax and then managed to sit and watch the swing ball calmly. I think my pup is entering his adolescence!! My house now has 3 teenagers!!! AArrrgggg
