Sheba is a 2.5 year old Pomeranian who is looking for an understanding home and lots of love.

She cannot be homed with children as she can be unpredictable if she gets scared. Sheba has bonded very well with me and although she only arrived yesterday (Friday) allowed me to groom all of her matts off on Friday evening. She was a right state!

Sheba came in as an Irish rescue dog. She was due to be put to sleep because she was snappy and scared of everyone, but when someone decided to sit on the floor with her and try and make friends she showed a bit of promise, so they agreed to send her over to the UK as she was far more likely to find an understanding home.

Sheba was purchased as a 6 week old puppy and kept tied up on a chain in the back yard until just a few weeks ago when the family decided that they didn't want a vicious dog.
The family were very rough and mean to her and it seems that she has been tormented and is snappy with new people.

When the Irish rescue went to collect her the family told her that she was not right in the head and there was definately something wrong with her mentally but blamed it on her past home and upbringing. The lady questioned when they got her...'At 6 weeks old!'

So...young Sheba (who was called Spike by the original family) is now looking for a quiet home, ideally with another dog. Once she has bonded with you (it took me about half an hour of gentle talking to her) she is a very cuddly dog, but appreciates gentle cuddles and stroking rather than rough play.

Sheba is great with cats and small animals, but I will not home her to go and live with children as they worry her. Over 16's only please!
Sheba would love to live with a retired couple or a quiet and understanding childless couple.

Initially you will see bared teeth and snapping, but if you can see past that and give her the benefit of the doubt, you will find a very affectionate dog beneath the initial reaction and discover a true gem.

Sheba has been spayed, microchipped and first vaxed, plus wormed and defleaed. She has alsio been shaved off. The next owner must understand that she has a very thick coat and needs to be brushed daily. If you are not prepared to brush her out daily or have her shaved every six weeks then please do not apply!!!

Emma

I will see what suits her tomorrow when she arrives. I think it is quite a bizarre and unusual name though!

Please meet Sheba. A big name for a dog with tonnes of personality.

She was very snappy when she was picked up, but once in the house calmed down considerably. She is great with the other animals and shows no reaction.

My ferret babies and their mum escaped their hutch first thing this morning and she actually helped me find them! She stood by the hutch that the final two had fallen asleep behind and just stared at the gap. Lucky really because I was doing my pieces thinking a fox had run off with my babies!

She is still worried about being touched, but she will have to get used to it because she is matted through and I cannot stand her being like that for more than a day (its an OCD thing!)

Anyway...here she is. Very pretty, but not scared to stand up for herself...

OMG Shocked  ... I wanna cuddle her!  But she is going to feel so much better in this heat and at least you know exactly what was under all that matted fur.  Bless her cotton socks - she is gonna grow back into a butterfly (not a butterbum)!

Yes...I can tell you exactly what was under all that coat! Many. many, many, many...fleas!
Mine have been treated, but she was so matted that the fleas were living quite snuggly under the matts. I could not believe how infested she was.

Luckily my lot are all flea treated every month so they are immune. I felt so sorry for her as the clippers revealed her little visitors, especially because she couldn't even itch the flea bites due to not being able to get her nails to her skin!  Surprised
