10th July Friday
Picture of the day
Eddie makes it home! Phew one of the most vunerable dogs to come lose from his London home 3 months ago. In our work we meet the creme de la creme of human kind
Sad Story of the Day The family we homed Eddie with have taken in 'oldies' for many years. 6 months ago they were asked to help a Staffie pup who had been found stray in a bad condition. They found it was walking funny and ran tests on it and as it grew older it began to fit. These became severe and sadly he was put to sleep. He opened their hearts to Staffies and they have adopted Eddie and Bobby (a Staffie x pup) from Battersea in their Staffie pups memory and are so delighted to have been introduced to the breed type.
Fun Story of the day Please note our websites. Our webguru has become a disc jockey and our dogs are singing their songs into peoples hearts.

The joys of walking the Croydon dogs with breath taking scenic views and breath taking dogs! Rhianna took my breathe away today
Sad Story of the Day One of our fosterers had seen 2 Shar Pei wanted to take one in with her pack to take care for one. I was shocked a Shar pei not a Shuh Tzu? Then she lead me to their thread and I realised her love, confidence and determination. 2 found in a DREADFUL state, not sure if one will pull through.

13th July Monday
Picture of the day Yes the 13th was not so good a day and a Monday and the week schools break up..not a good combination- treble whamee so you sit back and take inspiration from a photo a dream come true. Read Scrappy's thread and you'll see just what this picture meant to us all. YES Scrappy a little Fell-a retracing your Fell roots..leading the life we never even imagined would be yours, with your people who believe in you. A picture like this keeps us all climbing our hills! Onwards and upwards our motto.
Sad Story of the Day :cry:Emma thinking of you what a day you have had..but Lucy is back with you and enjoying Rachel's hospitality. The sad story always ends up in safety; tenderness, promise, care and if nothing else LOVE. Its what we do.

Sadly Zoe suddenly died today..this is a dear soul who had a very very deep place in John and Dee's hearts and always will.

A typical day of phones going; decisions to be made; emails answered; tweaking of websites; excel database worked on; organising homechecks; organising dog showings; organising vet treatments; care and assessment of our dogs; debate re 'needs of our dogs; arrangements for transport; chasing information; putting adverts up on websites; and ' i want a young dog, non moult; very calm; good off lead and housetrained. I like the look of Lakelands' calls'! 'dump a staff' calls and emails; advice given on dog issues; news from the rescue world; and few pat, strokes and licks! Pawfect day

Jess's walk in the Park...note the bag...NEW LOOK! Jess New look @ Jess
| Quote: | Pup picked up as a Crawley Borough Council stray a few days ago, a little b/w lurcher pup - 12 weeks old. dumped in woodland. Injuries to jaw and eye consistent with being violently kicked. Possible parvo. Foaming at mouth. Vets went above and beyond, and haven't charged the council for much of what they did. Possible long term damage. 2 days in the vets on a drip, and not parvo, but total worm burden. Heard the story a few days ago (as still off sick) and agreed that if push came to shove I would have him here. Not ideal though as being one handed makes life very difficult.
Today i found out that Lisa (who fostered Cody) has sorted out a foster, who wants to keep him and has personally underwritten the cost of further vet fees, castration etc. and is arranged rescue back-up.
Pup currently named lucky is doing well.
The kid done good - i'm very very proud of her. you can teach people stuff, but not compassion. | Reclaimingrebus (dog warden as her day job!)

Picture of the day
It's getting late..night is drawing in. Ernie looks..is this the way home?
Thought of the day Are dogs not man's best friend..are they not so obviously dependent on their owners for their survival? How can a family have Simone, know she has go out or gone stray because she is in season and not gone looking; not visit the pound to find her. When contacted say they can't afford the reclaim fee of £140! Yes its a lot of money but anyone who runs a car; has a TV license; has a holiday; take aways or a meal out will see this in perspective= this is your 'child's' life. They turn their back in her hour of need. Lie down, rest your head on the pillow and the thought must come she might have been killed today. Is there no love in that heart; no conscience.

18th July Saturday
Picture of the day
Picture to be changed once pictures of Chancers day out come in from Sarah C and Rob
Sad Story of the Day Our sad story always has a silver lining because we stand up and so are there for our dogs. Yes Frank and Tammy came into kennels, but what an opportunity they both have been given by devoted 'friends of our Rescue'. Benji came in, but no way did he deserve to lose his life - it made a change to help a Hound dog as opposed to a Pound dog. Bobby and Panda both 'nearly' got homes today, but because of the love shown and the very near possibilty WE all know their time is close.
Fun Story of the day Sharon R, Tina D, Belle's Mum and Moss plus were out today and Karen this afternoon shaking the tins! Dismay as the 'day' group arrived to find every complication present except weather. Sharon R said "you don't want to know what we had to do to get that money". Spare me the details, hope you are well ... just put it in the bank our vets will thank you later!
I now call Dee 'Ground control'! I am continually reporting back to her and she is operating my diary, monitoring my position and responding to my feedback

Sad Story of the Day Regret that Buster (Brown) has been our books for over 6 months and at last I meet and at last I see this wonderful dog who is going to be so easy to home.
