Sad Story of the Day Crying or Very sad We got an email yesterday 5 month Staffie x bitch pup advertised on free ads. We contacted a good family who had sent their questionnaire in looking for a Staffie, to go with their 3 cats..this pup was successfully living with 2. Then in discussion the family felt they weren't quite ready. 8 am this morning they are back on the phone..yes they're up for her..they're in the car and she is in their arms..Maddy is rightfully named she is a bit of a shock! Staffie x Burmese Mountain Dog!

Fun Story of the day Wink Photoshoot by our publicity and fundraising dept. Clickity click and the results are flashing up on our forum... meanwhile Alfie was out for the day..cant tell you how exciting that is for our Rescue..

21st June Sunday
Picture of the day

This is the picture that did it for me from the photo shoot. Winnie grinning, framed by "I need a home" motives.  Fab. picture

Sad Story of the Day Crying or Very sad Thinking of Minx.  All he saw was his mum go out through the dog flap. Never to be seen again.  I wanted to walk him but the kennel staff were too busy. Tomorrow I'm sure he'll get special attention ... poor Minx. Thinking of him tonight.

Fun Story of the day Wink Nancy found her home ... I really didn't think it was going to happen. She showed herself to be an all round, loving, gentle dog ... won over her family and Toby. Everyone is so happy.  What fun we have!

22nd June Monday
Picture of the day

OMG Here is Holly who was found 6 months ago is a 'disgusting exploited' state and has cost Nikki (Epsom Canine Rescue) thousands of pounds in vet bills to get her eyes right; her ears sorted; her spayed after multiple caesarians. She still hasn't lost her undercarriage but oh does she look different. And now she emerges as the beauty she was and has always been. Oh yes she is so ready for her home.

Sad Story of the Day Crying or Very sad Sad Monday of frantic calls ..I've taken 2 heart rendering terrier calls both we have committed to but can't take in now. Emma had the  'dire' Staffie calls she was beaten down in the end, the 5 th call, couldn't say no, despite the fact she is bursting at the seams.

Fun Story of the day Wink More pictures emerge from that photoshoot now we know who got shot! Galleries are up.

Rodders becomes our Staffie Rescue dog of the month!

Sad Story of the Day Crying or Very sad Silly lady called me..8 yr old Staffie has to go because her new Staffie puppy is making it growl. No she has no feeling for it as it was her partners who moved in 10 months ago and left it behind. She lived with it for that time with no bonding I presume. How many times are we seeing this "out with the old in with the new" Are these people numb skulls?..no don't answer that!

Fun Story of the day Wink Images: Maddy playing with her chew throwing it up in the air and pouncing on it.. Eddie chasing my watering can and licking from its spout at every chance..

Happy boy and we're all so happy

Sad Story of the Day Crying or Very sad Dodee a Parson's Jack Russell taken to the vets to be put to sleep.  Lady who rescues dogs agreed to take him. She knows he has been hit regularly and hasn't been walked for years. Mixed with her dogs fine but day three he snapped at her getting out the car and also went to go for one of her dogs.  She can't put him in kennels and doesn't have anyone to offer him the time he needs. Too many people suggested...PTS  We are the only ones that understood him and so we save him. Dodee comes to us on Friday as we are his last chance saloon.

Fun Story of the day Wink Images: Mayhem tonight lots of activity, fractious pack, guarding and of course I've been on the phone/at the computer and not really aware what it was all about other than I'm more vocal than usual! Ahh now I see ... a steady stream of soft toys have been appearing on the scene ... via "Eddie the toy bringer".  Hubby left the gate open upstairs into the toy store.

Buster (Brown) still waits in his home for his family.  Good with dogs; excellent with people and children. Special lad...

Sad Story of the Day Crying or Very sad Stella came on to our books today. Found stray 9 months ago and homed in with a identical Patterdale bitch and blind lurcher (Her finders sister once released by the dog warden). However as so happens with bitches they grow up so well then phow!  Well they have gone Phow too often and so Stella has her suitcase packed and relunctantly is looking for a terrier home with her families true blessings and great sadness.

Fun Story of the day Wink Our Croydon kennels have done so many cat tests recently that we are suggesting the cats do the dog tests from now on. They can just swipe up their reports after they have gone out and done a parade!

Guess who..Forum fans will recognise her straight away!

Sad Story of the Day Crying or Very sad Bull Breed pups are literally being dumped on our streets. A man is walking up and down Finsbury Park Road outside the Harmsworth Hospital offering an 8 month Mastiff x ABD to everyone. 4 years ago I would have got in my car and got it...today..its just another one 2-3 calls we receive a day with those 'ringing words' you can't help them all.

Fun Story of the day Wink Met Misty the Westie today who we homed 18 months ago with chronic ear problems. She now has enlarged heart and distended abdomen with Westie Lung disease. She is soo loved.  Tim our vet who cares for her said to her owner..  no she isn't one for the cat walk!

The day Tiger Lily lost all street cred. and showed herself to be a mouse!

Sad Story of the Day  Walking the Croydon dogs today it hit home how many of our dogs have grown up in kennels Chancer; Cassie; Taz; Charlie; Rodney; Murphy; Benson; Spud...to name a few. Jess has LIVED in them Crying or Very sad

Fun Story of the day Wink  Mark went into the newsagents and purchased the required..smuggled it back to his parents where he was staying over night. He planned to read in a private moment when suddenly his mother appeared confronting him..'The Staffordshire Bull Terrier'  Have you gone mad! Well when you start out to find a suitable dog and enquire about Terriers and suddenly get introduced to an surprizing idea, or notion..you need to do your research. Yes I can confirm Mark and Kate have gone Staffie mad..Thanks Dee!

Mac decided the nice people who came weren't his forever owners. He thanks us but says he'll give us the Wink when they eventually arrive

Sad Story of the Day Ky complex story around him being 'found or taken to the vet twice in one month'..last time the people on his chipped details just didn't want him back. So the vet was left with PTS or try for a rescue place.  Luckily the dog warden came forwards to help. We are paying for his medical needs and trying to find a new home for him.  Crying or Very sad

Fun Story of the day Wink Rescue Remedies made their presence felt at Battersea again today.  We may have to rename our rescue! Great outcome met loads of new people and some of our dogs made it to support the stall. £164 raised  Very Happy  pays for Jess's kennel this month, she thanks you.

29th June Monday
Picture of the day

Poppy and Abby.  Abby was homed as a pup and then the breeder retired and contacted Abby's owners to see if they would take Poppy, Abby's litter sister on, both aged 9.  They are now 14 and their owner is in his 90's. We visited, assessed and vax'd them both.  They are booked in for a dental on Thursday ... then at my suggestion, their owner is holding on to them and if he at anytime feels either he can't cope or they need more ... we will take them on, whatever age. He was delighted with the insurance policy! So pleased not to give them up.

Sad Story of the Day Jasper on rainbow bridge the sadest of stories, stolen and then killed by dog fighters. Sometimes you have to face evil and not deny it. He is safe now. Crying or Very sad

Fun Story of the day Wink Eddie became a big talking point on Richmond Green today by lots of different groups of young people. He got lots of cuddles and a bacon sandwich out of it.
