Teddy is a smart little guy with fab. looks. He has been owned since a pup and enjoys life but is looking for a dog experienced home who can offer him a great life and manage his little ways well. Teddy you see isn't a Teddy bear in fact he is very much his own person and doesn't like too much fuss. He also doesn't take to strangers too well, either in his home or making a fuss of him on his walks. His life, in his mind, consists of doing his own thing and being relaxed in the company of his owners. Teddy has just been neutered and his vax process just being updated. Teddy is still with his family.
So if you think Teddy could be your "Teddy", BE wARe he may bear his teeth initially until he knows you understands his terms and you've worked out your contract of engagements. His current owners want Teddy to have a fuller life so that he isn't left so much and therefore gradually opens up to activities and interest around him. He currently spends a lot of time on his own with his cats!. So here he is, Teddy and ready for his new life and looking for guidance as to what new things you may offer him! Proposals should be addressed to Teddy c/o Rescue Remedies!
Please visit Teddy's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes in Own homes on our Rescue Remedies forum to find out more about him and follow his progress.
If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

Why is this dog still looking for a home? Toy dogs are hugely popular.
Would it help to bring him into foster care so that he can be assessed in a pack of dogs?

Teddy is now with me.
So far, so good. He is getting on fine with the lunatics, which include Conker (male Lab x), Harry (male Cocker Spaniel), Monty (male Chihuahua x), Annie (female Yorkie x), Rolo (male Springer Spaniel) and Sam (male 8 week old puppy).
He is great with the cats, fine with the ferrets and takes no notice of my rats/hamsters/chinchillas/degus etc.
He is also quite happy for me to carry him about (typical Chihuahua I guess), but is tending to stay out the way at the moment. Hopefully over the next couple of days he will make the effort to blend in with my pack of dogs.

Some pics of the beautiful boy...
Teddy is a strange one. He seems to have a huge annoyance in his life...his own tail!!! When he is happy, he wags it, except that annoys him so he snarls at it...which makes him more excited and so he wags it more, which is even more annoying so he growls louder! Bizarre, but very funny and he means nothing by it. I have fussed him all over whilst he is growling at his tail and he is not snappy with me at all. He is just telling his tail off for it wagging...
He has eaten a full dinner already and has made it quite clear that I need to clear yet another space on my bed tonight!

LOL! My mum and dad have had Chihuahua's for a while. The say they are Great Danes in a Chihuahua's body - so cheeky _________________ SHARONR - ADMIN

He is cheeky and quite a little character.
He has bonded big time with me and follows me about like a shadow. As soon as I stop moving he is jumping up for a cuddle, although this is something that isn't really allowed. He gets a cuddle when I say, not when he does!!!
He is also an extremely active little dog and is on par with Rolo the Springer Spaniel's energy levels! This little one can run forever so tomorrow evening, the plan is to take him on a long dog walk to run some of this excess energy off.
He is fab off lead already and doesn't let me out of his sight.
He also enjoys a good rough and tumble. He is not interested in calm games and rolls about with Sam the puppy like he is a puppy himself. He looks slightly scary when he plays, but Sam knows more than me and can read little Teddy far better as he is not worried about the growling and snarling and just bites his bum to get him going again.
We have had a few incidents of tail aggression, but it only seems to be when there aren't any dogs around him. If there are dogs about then he is fine.
When he is tail chasing he is completely focussed on getting that annoying fluffy thing that waggles away, so using distractions was hard, except now I have worked out that if you walk away from him and tell him to 'Come!' then he follows you straight away and forgets about the tail.
Continuity is the best way forward with this boy and him living with other dogs.
I won't consider any homes without at least one of two other dogs in the home.

Saw Teddy in with Emma's gang today and he looked so at home and relaxed. Enjoying life so much more now with little playmates and lovely walks.

Teddy has been reserved by a lady who is blessed with a huge house and lots of land.
She is coming to view him tomorrow with a view to adopting him.
Teddy is soon to be joined by the second dog of the household who is also a small rescue dog. Hopefully they will be able to learn from each other. So, in about two weeks time the lady will have double trouble!
He has had a bath and got so mad with me that he took it out on his tail. Conker was having none of it though and told him in his own doggie way to stop it and amazingly he listened!!!
