Jaspa has had a really good week. I found some new toys and he has thoroughly enjoyed them - note to forever family - toy box required
I let him go through the bag and choose which he wanted. Having made his selection, he dashes back to his bed and pounces all over them before 'burying' them
It always amuses me how he picks up routine so fast. On our return from our walk, he goes back into the kitchen and sits, staring intently at 'the box'. It is from here, I select a treat and toy for him to take back to his kennel. Once I have it, it is a mad dash to the kennel and beautiful sit while he waits to see what was chosen for him. Oh the anticipation
His fur is showing signs of growing back and I am sure that it is a case of 'wear and tear' on the concrete floor.
Such fun this week

Jaspa and I had a lovely play and then a long walk this morning. Once again I managed to walk straight into an army exercise but Jaspa was delighted as he was allowed to jump over all the barricades they were building
I wasn't allowed to take photos in that area, but did managed to get some further on ...
We were tired out by the end and Jaspa was happy to retire to his kennel with a raw hide chew |

True to their word, the squaddies left some barricades for Jaspa. Oh we had such fun jumping over them today
I think I have finally worked out the hair loss behind the ears. I think it is where I take the harness on and off - only taken me ages but have finally got there
You can see quite well in this photo. |

Jaspa is still doing well, although not very good at pacing himself in this weather We still 'leave the traps' at top speed but it doesn't take quite so long for the pace to slow as it is hotter. Mind you, the sight or sound of a squirrel and we are off at full pelt again
Whilst we were out today, we got 'charged' by a boxer on the loose and Jaspa was very well behaved. Definite gold star for him today |

Whilst playing fetch with Jaspa in the paddock before our walk today, Jaspa barked when giving the toy back to me. I was quite surprised and realised that I don't think I have heard him bark before. When I arrive he does get excited but tends to bounce rather than bark. It was actually quite endearing - he deposited the toy at my feet and then gave a little yap as if to say 'come on, come on.'
As with Spice, I am going to have to film Jaspa to illustrate his splendor. |

Jaspa moved into a different kennel block earlier this week and has had great fun exploring a new paddock. Some of the 'inmates' have started to tunnel under the shed and Jaspa has added his efforts to thiers
We have a new game, although I am not certain I know how to play it properly - it involves him 'hiding' in the hole, I call him and then he does a super fast circuit of the paddock before returning to me puffed out. I am not convinced it is good for his recall training and probably shouldn't be engaging in this, but oh, he really, really enjoys it
With all that vigorous exercise and the hot weather, our walks have been slightly shorter and slower |

Jaspa continues to do well and enjoy his walks. This morning on our return we had to wait for a while in the adjoining paddock while some others dogs had their run. I took the opportunity to do some traning with Jaspa and he did really well, as usual
He does 'sit' 'down' stand' very well. 'Wait' and 'stay' are a bit more selective but I know he can do it |

When out on his walks, Jaspa always faces that age old doggie dilemma - how do you keep your nose to the ground, following that irresistable scent, whilst keeping your eyes on the tree tops for those darned squirrels and mark your territory all at the same time
Just so many things to do
As the walk progresses, he does give up trying to do everything at once, but always so busy to start with
