Wyatt came into our care yesterday. Very handsome boy, very affectionate and not reactive to dogs. He managed to climb over his kennel and join Monty on the lawn. I separated them as I was on my own and didn't chance an altercation but their energies were receptive to one another. Wyatt just wanted to be in with the action..he now has a kennel with a hat on! Lovely boy who received a lovely welcome from Hayley from Farnham kennels.
He is a medium sized terrier about 16-17" to the shoulder. We're convinced he is from the same litter as Peaches who we rescued at Christmas having been rescued same area and the looks are identical only now older and mature

 What a lovely,lovely boy
He does look like he hasn't quite grown into his paws yet but so beautiful. He has that wonderful child like enthusiasum that means that the world is a great place and everything and everybody is just there to be loved 
On our walk he was very playful and very interested in everything. There was a bit of jumping up and lead biting but it was all very playful. He is just one of those dogs that will make you smile  I think we are going to have lots of fun together (and try and do a little training too )
I, somehow, think this is one little boy who won't be with us long

Wyatt has a vets appointment on Friday for his first vax, chip and check on his castrate wound.
Such a clever boy, he has already sussed the routine out and was ready to set off on his adventures this morning.(I do think he should be called Snowy, after Tintin's dog - he really reminds me of him ) Whilst out he waited beautifully while I had a chat, first sitting then just lying at my feet. If I moved he got up ready to go, if carried on chatting, he settled himself back down again. Very sweet
Several times today he turned to nudge the lead - I am begining to think he doesn't like it resting on his side or back.

Wyatt has been coming along in leaps and bounds this week (although we have been trying to discourage the leaps  ) After the initial excitement of coming out of the kennel, he settles nicely and is very easy to walk and I really enjoy his company. I think we have now mastered 'sit'. It is quite hard to test his recall as he won't go far away anyway and if I rustle anything in my pocket, he is back like a shot He really does love having his kisses and cuddles
When he comes across something new, his reaction is to stop and go 'eek' (well, look eek, anyway) and then look to you for reassurance. Once given he will investigate - carefully
We went to the vets today and he was as good as gold as he was jabbed and chipped - just lay quietly throughout. His wound is healing well and the stitches are disolvable so have been left in place. He wasn't at all sure about the car so I am guessing this is something he is not used to. I had to lift him in and then I left him to decide where he wanted to sit. I quickly excluded my lap for him and so he chose to strech out along the back seat. He stayed there quietly throughout. Although he wasn't totally comfortable, he didn't cry or be sick so I believe that it is just a matter of him getting used to it.
I have made an appointment for his booster in a couple of weeks but something tells me he won't be around to keep it
