Hi all
Pls dont think im being rude but is it ok if i ask re transport. im very new to rescues etc and have offered for transport myself etc. (Even though the only 1 i arranged i did rather shamefully let the chap down as i was late from my dads funeral when my fone went awol!!??)
I am considering rehoming an AMB which is still with origial owners who live up north. AM I allowed to ask forhelp with transport getting him here thru the volunteers etc or is that a no-no because he isnt anything to do with this site??
his owners work shifts and he is on his own most of the day in his cage and when they come home they go to bed (daytime) so hes probably real lonely and needs company. Thing is they start a 7day shift tomorrow around 7pm so really need to get him from Nottingham to Heathrow in time to get to work. Id go and get him mysself but my car is leaking oil and needs about 500£ repairs which I cant even get done till mid Jan. The journey to the funeral killed it!! and I cant drive another 5-600 miles in less than a day for the third time this month!!!!

Hi Trace,

So sorry for the delay!!

I think to be honest that you are better to ask from help from one of the bigger forums that have specific transport help, difficult for us as we are small and also because the dog is not know to us in any way.

I see that you are only considering rehoming him at present so hope you do not mind me asking a couple of questions.

1. Is he neutered?

2. How did you find out about him?

3. What happens if you get him down to yours and your gang do not get on with him?

I know that you have a massive heart and would (if possible) take in every dog looking for a loving home but am just concerned for you that this dog is so far away from you and that there is no rescue involved with him giving you back up or support. If the dog does not get on with your guys where will it leave you? If the people who are trying to rehome him are not able to bring him to you then you have no chance of them taking him back and finding a rescue space for AMB at any time or year difficult but at this time of year will be impossible.

If he is on his own all the time you do not even really know for sure that e is ok with other dogs and with 2 unspayed females he (whether neutered or not!) is likely to keep trying it on with them. How do you think they will cope with that? Am guessing at least one of them is not going to take tht well. Us females can get a little protective of our bits you know!! LOL

Are these the same concerns that have you considering it or have you other concerns too?

I agree with everythig u have said in yr post and they are definitely thoughts and concerns that I had. The thing was that I felt rushed into going ahead with the rehoming (we discussedon the saturday by fone and daddy wanted me to rush half way to Nottingham that same day!!! as their shifts began on the sunday at 7pm for the next 7 days¬!!). Thank god didnt go through with it and Im grateful to the guy actually being so pushy as he really did make my decision for me.
My two unspayed bitches would for sure have let him know ifhe was over-bothering them as the little minx (6 month EBT) is a character in herself and if it isnt her way she tries to rule with her iron fist!!! and obviously this is something I needed to consider.
It a real shame but I see he is still advertising for his step-sons dog on pre****d and I worry about this am bully being driven insane with loneliness and boredom and really hope he gets rehomed soon.
Youd have thought that obviously educated and intelligent adults working within the prison service were more responsible but it goes to prove that you never can tell these days who is trustworthy and responsible and who isnt.
Thanks for yr comments, I didnt feel so gutted knowing that someone else was thinking similar thoughts but you do have to draw the line somewhere and try to not let yrn heart rule yr head!!!

I actually helped transport "RHUBI" their mascott dog from the pound in wales to her new home with Ann from Bullies In Need!
