Tiger Lily Staffie DOB Jan08 East London

History: Found stray and spent most of the winter in kennels with us. Was homed for 2 months living with a teenager busy family. Had a tiff with another dog no actual injury done, but returned.

Salient points: Stocky classic pure Staffie. Very loving. Happier as a single dog to ensure she does all the loving, mothering and sets the agenda!

Advert: Love, Love, Love, Lovely Staffie. Just meet Tiger Lily and you'll understand why Staffies are so popular! She is emotionally affectionate without being stifling.  She is chunky, solid and so cuddly. She has a heart shaped head with searching eyes that engage with you in wonderment. She is pleased to be your friend and it feels like she takes you by the hand as you walk and enjoy the scenery. Spayed, vax'd and chipped. Tiger Lily is currently kennelled in near Croydon, Surrey.

Tiger Lily is the fragrant 'big cat' who people stop to admire and she'll offer her back to be stroked or scratched. Her eyes can seem sore under stress as after 30 mins walk they were calmed and less red. Oh, Tiger Lily can't wait to meet your forever owners and have the pleasure of placing you in their care and they in yours. Petal!

Please visit Tiger Lily's dog's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes in our care on this forum to find out more about her and follow their progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

Tiger Lily thread below:

Tiger Lily was found stray..and was to be put to sleep this Monday.  Emma alerted us and we came forwards for her.  She is being taken for a vet check over tomorrow and possible spay with Mr Andre.

Tiger Lily is a brindle larger sized Staffie.
xxlynne

Tiger lily was spayed today.  The vet found her in the early stages of a pregnancy..just 2 weeks in with only one foetus. So bless her she has been saved being a single mum and having to sign on for benefits!  She was 1st Vax'd and chipped at the same time.  We spent time in the car together and she is a very loving dog..but I get a sense she hasn't had too much loving coming her way recently.

Tiger lily is your typical old fashioned staffie but slightly on the larger size; strong, but not heavy on the lead I felt; with a head the size of a dinner plate!  Oh so very very beautiful.  She is under weight and will be wormed in the near future once her system has recovered from her op.

I'm singing for Tiger lily..she is lovely and I'm confident she will find a wonderful family to finally call her own.  She reminds me of Cash a staffie we had in who cried for his old owners who had treated him like dirt.  I feel Tiger lily is bemused in rescue and pining for the family she knew, despite their lack of responsibility in standing by her.

These pictures were taken in the vets after her ordeal so show her mood flattened.

Sharonr - Admin

How old is she Lynne?
EmmaSemple

Tiger-Lily has got over her op. She had a bad reaction to Metacam (gave her the trots) but she has rallied round now and is the same happy-go-lucky-girl that we all know and love.

She has decided that she is far too good for dry food so now enjoys her Naturediet. We get the filthiest look if we offer her anything else!

Dee P, Summer and I had our staffie cuddles with Tiger Lily today..what a dear dear soul she is!

Chicken tested Tiger Lily today and she was just observant. Watched and walked away..same with horses. Cant help but think today how gentle she would be with children..she loves her name to be called and she comes rushing over wagging that tail then little licks.  Very Very Special.

I know I have many favourites but just to sing it from the roof tops Tiger Lily's a favourite!!

This may open up Tiger-Lily's opportunities.

She started mixing with other dogs today. Smile

Tiger Lily finds herself suddenly homeless again..she jumped on to a trampoline and over a fence (apparently) and into the street.
Met a dog and all was fine until it smelt her behind.  She pinned it to the ground, panic, but no harm, just shock. Family wanted her gone within the hour not prepared to transport, else she was being taken to be put to sleep. We managed to get her out with great stress to her and ourselves. Poor love how she must have felt. Thank God she is now safe.
EmmaSemple

Yes. A very disappointing outcome really. It is easy to shout euthanase even though this was not her fault. This was a dog taking advantage of a bad situation. In this case a badly placed trampoline.
I also did not appreciate the attitude of a member of the owners family who phoned me ranting and raving down the phone to me demanding that the dog be moved immediately because it had a go at the other dog. I was told that the dog in question was half dead which was clearly a lie. I know of many rescues who would have agreed and told them to have Tiger-Lily put to sleep because of this statement which was inaccurate and potentially could have caused her death.

I look forward to seeing Tiger-Lily on Monday morning and will shower my little heart shaped doglet with lots of love. Smile

Heart shaped doglet safely delivered to the kennels this morning with a nice mini tyre to play with  Very Happy .  She had a lovely sleep over with Chris & Chris last night and they were clearly sad to see her leave this morning. Chris is going to write a little piece about Tiger Lily's overnight stay which I will post later.  They have an elderly Owl called Fred which they have owned for 25 years and he flys around the house every evening.  If they didn't have Fred they would have kept Tiger Lily as she very quickly charmed them both - but it wouldn't be fair to Fred to change what he is used to at his great age.

She sat quite happily on the front passenger seat in the car today and merely observed my driving skills - I believe I actually heard her groan when I crunched the gears!

I played with her in her run while I waited for Lynne to arrive.  She has quite obviously been trained.  She sits beautiful to command and will release her toy when you say 'leave'. She is very receptive to commands and you can see her actually reading you and looking to you for instruction.

I took her for a walk down the lanes with Murphy and JJ's recent fosterer and his friend before I left.  Murphy and Tiger Lily got on famously and enjoyed their walk.
ali12345

As ever Tiger Lily was a pleasure to walk today and was a calm influence on a bouncy Bobby.  Lovely girl looking a bit perplexed about being back in kennels but surrounded by love from her true friends who welcomed her back. I believe someone has fallen for her charm and hopefuly she will be off sooner rather than later. - not to be, they decided on someone else.

Tiger Lily

I took Lily on the Cafe walk today, she sat beautifully in the kennel to have her harness put on, we set off along the road, Lily kept looking behind her to see if I was still there.
She wasn't affected by the vehicles passing close by at all, when we got to the Cafe she sat patiently outside, looking in at me, we sat down and both drank our water.
Lily then decided that if I was going to fuss her she'd like to be on the same level so she got on the bench with her head in my lap, which was lovely. When she tried to climb up onto the table, her lack of table manners were pointed out to her and she graceful jumped down Rolling Eyes
A lovely walk in the sunshine, a perfect lady! Very Happy

Tiger Lilly

Hello, in your opinion, is this dog problematic with other dogs? Or had she been provoked? I have a male am bull and 2 small children and we would be very interested in her, if you think she'd be right?   Very Happy
xxlynne

Tiger Lily will mix generally well with dogs as long as they do not begin to pay her too much attention. She can not live with another dog or a cat. She is however social outside providing meetings are controlled and Tiger Lily remains on a lead.
xxlynne

Tiger Lily came out to meet Kate today, for Kate to see the GT model SBT ... and I left them whilst I went to get Bobby (which of course took time ... people smile who know what it is to put a harness on Bobby by yourself!) They were smitten by the time I arrived back. We then all walked together. Tiger Lily was exceptional..gracious in her motherly approach to Bobby, tolerant of his interest except when he ... well he just wanted to make sure ... but she tut, tutted him, silly boy!

Lovely walk though TL did get very hot and so we rested. Suddenly we had 2 horse heads lowering like cranes practically into our laps.  Tiger Lily's little eyes showed amazement and then the horse got too familiar and TL moved away and rushed up to me for reassurance. What a lamb! I have promised not to share this with anyone ... she has her street cred to consider.  You haven't read or seen this picture OK

EmmaSemple

Am loving that look of sheer shock on TL's face!  Laughing With Bobby just looking on with a great (albeit safe) vantage point!

Tiger Lily

Went out first with TL today in the company of Cassie (and Zoe), both girls were very well behaved walking side by side. It was hot today so it was only a short walk but they seemed to enjoy it.
At the turnround point we all sat on the grass in the shade, a big fuss made of all dogs concerned, and watered. There was a slight disagreement between them when TL ended up standing over a grass rolling Cassie, but nothing serious just handbags really.
A lovely walk in the sun  Very Happy

ali12345

Tiger Lily went out with Frank today and she really seemed to pay him much more attention than she normally does to other dogs. They walked nicely together but she got a bit pushy while we sat around in the shade and I paid Frank some attention. I then carried on with her on a slightly longer walk and she was pleased to get a proper walk. Met up with Frank on the way back and they plodded along very nicely together.
Tiger Lily knows her own mind when it comes to other dogs and mixes well up to a point. When she has had enough then she has had enough. Interesting to see if she is still so keen on Frank next time - she normally is quite dismissive of the bouncy young things, maybe he is just the right sort of guy she is prepared to talk to!
Today she was very excited to be coming out and even had a little bounce around the kennel before I put her harness on.  Maybe she was pleased the worst of the heat had lifted.
Tiger Lily is a pleasure to walk and for someone looking for a calmer staffie companion she is the ideal temperament.
Alison
ali12345

Couldn't resist this girl today when I walked past. Everyone who knows her just loves Tiger Lily. She is a more mature girl but still with plenty of fun in her. She is quite sure of her self and takes no nonsense from young whippersnappers like Buster with no manners who just bounce in her direction.  But after fair warning she settles down nicely alongside to walk.
She was very eager to keep going as it wasn't too hot and she didn't mind the rain. On return she was met by several human friends who she charmed as usual, lapping up all the attention.

Oh Lady Lily your beauty untold, your treasure a bounty to behold!
ali12345

Tiger Lily had a lovely walk with little Rikki pup. She was quite interested in what he might be but said hello nicely and kept an eye on what he was up to.
Lily was on good form today, enjoyed her fuss and even gave a couple of staffy leaps for fuss when out on the walk!  Quite something from such a girlie. Charming as ever, she could be such a loving companion for someone.

Tiger Lily

Took Tiger Lily out for a walk today. It was quite hot so decided to do a short one to the bridge & back. She was striding on ahead with great purpose but not pulling. At our drink stop I offered her one of my highly expensive organic no additives etc. dog biscuits - she spat it straight out! Wish i'd had my camera to capture her expression of utter . Sorry Lils, wasn't trying to poison you.

Took Tiger Lily out for a walk on Saturday. It was quite warm so we had a number of shady short breaks. She has perfected the art of doing lots of rolling about with her legs in the air.

On the grass...

and in the dirt... Managed to dust her down a bit before returning to the kennels!
She is just an absolutely adorable chunk

My goodness, where did this week go!! Only just downloaded the photos I took whilst out with the lovely Tiger Lily last Saturday. I really look forward to our walks because she is such good company and so well behaved.

Tiger lily needs more pictures.  She is now fully matured and a substantial 'gal'.  EXTREMELY cuddly, soft, so soft and everything you could ever want from a Staffie. Couldnt get any head shots then suddenly twigged ... well it was a branch held up actually.

jm

Thanks for the tips on photography. Tiger Lily is always so intent on having a cuddle, it's hard to get a good shot.

We had a lovely walk again on Saturday. She was flirting with the builders along the road who fell for her charms, and said a nice hello to a walker along the way. Everyone who meets her thinks she is lovely so maybe she will bump into her forever family soon.

Maybe not as good a photo, but does this get entered for the longest tongue?

jm

Had a really nice time out with Tiger Lily on Saturday. As it was quite warm we stopped for a while. Tiger Lily is so affectionate. She rubbed up against me and enjoyed having her ears rubbed and tummy stroked.

Lynne, I'm afraid I couldn't get the stick trick to work as she wanted to play with it!!
Anyway I think she looks georgeous in this photo.

If only her forever family were running down the hill towards her with arms outstretched.

JM 'in Love' with Tiger lily

Tiger Lily

I took TL out as the last walk of the day on Friday, we went out with Alison and Levi.
Initially we introduced them carefully, but once TL was used to Levi they were fine, Levi is such a calm and laid back guy that nothing fazes him.
TL trotted along perfectly, at the halfway point we watered them and I made a fuss of TL, she is a lovely girl and responds well to attention.
All in all, a lovely walk in the sunshine.

Tiger Lily

I took out TL as my last ever walk today, she really is a lovely 'older' lady. She plods along at her own pace, and spends a lot of time 'snuffling' about in the hedgerows.
At the halfway point she insisted on climbing onto my lap and attacking my neck and face with her tongue, we had a great fussing session before the slow plod back.
Another lovelty walk with TL, I'll miss her. As one of the longest stayers at the kennels now, I really hope she finds her forever soon.
God Bless. love7

As I drove to the kennels on Saturday, I suddenly realised that sad as I was that she had still not found a home, I was actually getting really excited at the prospect of seeing Tiger Lily again as I had been away for a short while.
We enjoyed a lovely reunion hug & cuddle, then off for our walk. Now the weather is cooler her pace has picked up a bit, and before we knew it we had long since past the place where I had intended to turn around and head for home.

Hope someone comes forward for her soon. So much love to give.
xxlynne

Tiger Lily needs a day out...any offers.  She has changed kennels and we are hoping she will enjoy the roomier and lighter kennel. She so needed a change. She has slightly sore ears so currently being treated. She is scrumptious.

Saw Tiger Lily today and she pressed herself up to the front of the kennel for a scratch.  As much as I wanted to take her today I thought she would be out soon with someone so left her for someone else Very Happy

TL = TLC    love Julie!   (Dr Julie...Doctor in Rehab Medicine)

Yes Tiger Lily got Julie into the car this morning and at the insistence of myself she met 2 other Staffies..difficult one for an experience staffie owner..who is going to fall for all. But yes Tiger Lily the orignal choice ..was there as a cert. and the hesitation "has she taken to me? Well she's mine"..as if Tiger Lily  had been holding back she turned came over a cuddled as if to say now I can relax..thank you!

But hang on one last drama. Graham the kennel owner had commented on how good generally dogs were with kennel cats only an hour previous. In the office I had taken Tiger Lily's old collar off when she spotted a cat on the counter. Oh how lively I got her by the scruff and Sue, kennel manager appeared and took the cat to safety.  New collar on and 3 mins later Tiger Lily jumped up on the counter in one leap just making sure it had gone!  She then sported another but was distractable and wasn't barky. She was safely on a lead!

Tigerlily settling in at home

Hi everyone
Greetings from Tigerlily in Stratford :-) She sends all her friends a huge tailwag and lots of licks !
Its really hard to believe its only a fortnight since TL came home. She's adorable - already found a place deep in my heart.

TL has settled brilliantly into her new routine, and has also coped with a couple of 'different' days that involved a stay at my mums overnight as i had to go away for work. Mum also loves her too now!

Everything is going well. She enjoys a long morning walk with lots of chasing after a ball, walks well on the lead, and seems really happy.

She developed kennel cough though that is also settling now.

Dee gave me some very helpful advice when she started to do lots of mad jumping up and giving playfil nips, and that is much less now.  She is such an affectionate girl - i'm so lucky to have her.

I'm really thrilled :-) Thank you everyone!

I haven't worked out how to upload photos here, can anyone advise me  please?

Julie (Tigerlily's mum) x
