The RR family...It occured to me the other day and was just reinforced when i read Lynne's RR diary that RR is really run like it is one massive family, whereas most of the bigger rescues are run like a business.
They deny dogs that will cost too much money, completely closing their hearts to the dog's plight and story, whereas RR will not discriminate against a dog for being a certain breed, age etc. RR also treat dog as they would their own, providing the best care, homes and vet attention that they can, often investing heavily in dogs that they know will take long term care and nurturing to become "whole" again.
Before i was involved in RR, i didn't give money to any charity or rescue as i saw from working for a charity how much money was wasted. I am very proud of the RR ethos and am very proud to say that i am associated with them
I know this is a bit of a random post but i wanted to say Thank You to everyone associated with RR, my Lucie would probably be dead without them, as would countless other dogs xx

Part of my job is to find a rescue space for the councils out of time strays.
I've been lucky and made good contacts with a number of rescues, and RR has always been there for my dogs.
Compare RRs open armed attitude to that of another rescue, who declined to take a black(non-staffie) X-breed on the grounds that they had too many black dogs already!
Needless to say, none of mine go there now.

Belle, and her family are all also extremely grateful for all the hard work done by the RR team - a small number of people who make a huge difference to many dogs lives, especially saving those which otherwise would be destroyed due to medical or behavioural issues. The work you do with the dogs to make them homeable is immeasurable, your dedication is remarkable, this can be seen by anyone lucky enough to take a RR dog home with them.
Thankyou from a very spoilt Belle (currently asleep with her legs in the air, surrounded by toys and tennis balls after a day spent running through woods, swimming and digging holes!)

We agree!!!!
I know that the pounds and other charities are having to sort out the mess left by people who are involved in over breading, cruelty, treating living animals as disposable items etc etc and the whole thing is a sad sorry mess, but it just isn't right.
When I read the post about the practice of some of the "saviours" it made me feel physically sick. Then I read about Buster (black), who ended up in Battersea and that was the end of the road for him, poor poor thing.
Then I read that beautiful little Spice has finally found her forever home, and I cried. Would any other charity have put so much into saving this lovely dog?
Our wonderful, amazing, happy, funny, clever dog, Moss, was an unclaimed stray. He was lucky, RR found him. What would his fate have been if they hadn't? It doesn't bear thinking about.

We have all been welcomed into the RR family and have made some new friends, that we don't see everyday, but we know are there for us when needed. RR pulled at our heartstrings when we got Stevie and we have joined the pack!! RR found us our little man, Stevie, when we were heartbroken over the loss of Milo. Stevie didn't replace Milo and we still miss him, look at his photos and videos and shed tears, but Stevie gave us some joy to ease the pain....... RR is now a part of our family aswell....
