Renamed this lovely girl Suzi as you will know once you meet her. Such a special dog..calm and serine on the journey from Wales. She was spayed on the 15th Oct so may be bowled over by what life is throwing at her currently.
Lets see how she settles but on first meeting am in awe!

I met Suzi for the first time today with Janet and Alwyn. In the kennel she was a little growly but the wagging tail gave the game away and once out she was hugely affectionate. As she was preparing to go out for a walk, Alwyn noticed a little blood on her leg. On closer inspection her spay wound was leaking and she had a bump forming behing it.
At this point you realise just how fantastic everyone involved with Rescue Remedies is - a quick check with the kennel manager and Alwyn and Suzi were dispatched to the office so she could be cuddled and kept very quiet, a call to the emergency vets to arrange where to see her. In the middle of all of this a family who had travelled for hours to meet Errol arrived and immediately read the situation and were very understanding, waiting whilst arrangements were put in place. Alwyn was kidnapped by me to cuddle Suzi on the way to the vets and Janet took care of Errol and his adoption ( ) Nobody questioned anything - just got on with it.
Darling little Suzi, so unsure about life at the moment took it all in her stride. She was examined and it was decided we should try and keep an close eye on her first - it could just be fluid forming behing the wound or it could be more serious. It is impossible to tell at this stage. So, in order to keep her as quiet as possible and under constant supervision, she has come home with me for the time being and is being kept crated with a lampshade on.
She has eaten well tonight and been to the loo. She will sleep in our room tonight and fingers crossed all is well in the morning. Sweet, sweet girl

Well done all. She looks such a sweet girl. Hope she is feeling much better this morning with all the love and care she has been given.

We all got some sleep last night, there was a little fretting but generally she settled.
She has eaten breakfast this morning and been out for a couple of walks in the garden.
So far, I am pretty confident that she is housetrained. When she wants to go, her fretting gets more frantic.
Scooby is a little scared of her (or more precisely, her lampshade ) but they have investigated each other and there were no problems. She is a little nervous generally but has accepted him. She seems to love the children
At the moment she is very anxious and timid - every time anybody comes into or out of the room, she frets. Hardly surprising, though, given what the poor little mite has been through She will stay in the crate today to keep her a still as possible and then we have an appointment to see the vet again tomorrow morning.
Despite all her confusion and discomfort, she has the most loving and gentle nature. Once we get her through this, some family are going to think Christmas has come early

We have been taking Suzi out for a little wander at hourly intervals or as she required. A few more pictures of her from today starting with my favorite -
This comes closest to capturing her
She seems fine with dogs, although Scooby is not sure about the lampshade -
She seems to adore the children and loves any attention they give her -
She is fascinated by the molehills - we decided it was best to remove her collar quite quickly as she used it as a shovel this morning
Poor little mite, the pocket of fluid is clear to see in the photo above She is going back to the vets in the morning - keep your fingers crossed for her. She is such a dear little thing, so loving and so confused at the moment

Well done you all. Keeping everything crossed for little Suzi for tomorrow.
I am sure she will be fighting fit very soon. Love and care with just a touch of magic because so many people are willing her on.

Everything is crossed for her Karen. I thought about her last night but I also thought that little JRTish girlie couldn't be in a better place.
BTW she looks gorgeous even with the lampshade. Lovely, lovely photos of her!

A quick up date on poor little Suzi - she was operated on again this morning and is on strict rest and antibiotics for the next 10 days.
She is still groggy and confused at the moment but at least she should now be on the road to recovery.
She is back home with me and tucked up in her crate.

Apparently the vet opened the spay site to find infection and aspects that needed 'tidying' also there was some reaction to the type of suture material used. So Suzi is back with Karen; in the warm on antibiotics and pain killers. We will need some one to help her Thursday or Friday as Karen is going away and we would very much like to avoid kennels until her ten days post op is up.

Suzi ate and slept well last night. She is still a little wobbly but has been out in the garden this morning and had her breakfast
The best news of the day is that she is going to up grade to Jilly's on Thursday, after her vets appointment Cannot thank Jilly enough for coming forward for her and seeing her through her recovery

What kind words Karen, an upgrade hmmmm, I don't think that could be possible seeing the care you have given her. I will just try and be as good with her as you have been. She looks a lovely little girl and I cannot wait to meet her.
Heading for a full recovery and then I am sure there is a fantastic forever home out there right now just waiting for her to be healthy and ready.
We will get her to be a big strong girl and to be loved and cared for in the way she, like so many others, truly deserve.

Sadly Suzi woke up with a bit of a cough this morning - hardly surprising after everything she has been through. We went to the vet for her check up and her plaster has been removed. She is slightly more swollen than we hoped but everything is intact and she is healing well. She will have to have at least another 7 days crate rest and another check up. While we were there she was microchipped as well.
She has been given some different antibiotics which will help with her cough as well.
Having said that she has been on great form today and we all stole some extra cuddles with her. Jilly picked her up this evening and as I type, Suzi is travelling to her new foster home. She was very happy to meet Jilly and give her cuddles so I am sure she will have a lovely time - we will all miss her but are very happy for her to be with Jilly where she will get all the love and attention to see her through the next stage

Well done Karen. You, Jilly & all our fosterers are such priceless cogs that keep the RR wheel turning You just know if those dogs could speak what they would say ... THANK YOU!

What do you mean "if they could talk" Sharon tut tut.
Suzi travelled beautifully in the car. Straight into her crate on arrival after the journey. Toilet break and something to eat and very soon, after a chat she fell asleep.
She told me to thank Sebastian and Rhianna as well as Karen and John for making her first week with RR so special. She said they were very loving and looked after her very well and Scooby.
So now to sleep to dream of being all better and healed. Ahhhhhhhhhh sweet dreams.

As little Suzi has kennel cough, like her pal Iris, she was unable to mix with the pack yesterday. The thought of all day and night in her bedroom in a crate with just toilet breaks is not good enough for one of our girls so an executive decision was made by me last night. Armed with doggy blanket and an understanding husband, I decided to sleep in the spare room with Suzi.
I wouldn't normally encourage a foster dog on a bed but little Suzi is recovering from surgery, coughing, not too bad but its there, and newly with us. So we donned our pyjamas and hit the sack together. She slept brilliantly. Had to still have her dog neck protector - lampshade- thing on - technical word - but she still slept soundly. ( I however had nightmares I was being attacked by a lampshade).
This morning kisses given in the garden at 6 am toileted and back to her normal crate while I began the rounds with the rest of the pack.
Suzi is a little darling. You look at these little mites asleep in your arms and just wonder how have you lost your home. She sits down next to you and then shifts her bottom closer until she is touching you, head pressing into you.
Her eyes look like she has dark eye liner on and she is truly beautiful- Inside and out.
She is a joy and I stress again she is very thankful to Karen and family for the lovely beginning they gave her. She waved goodbye to them but will never forget them in her heart ( she told me that as well Sharon).
So at least she is getting total attention at night. Toilet breaks and cuddles during the day but most important she knows she is loved by many.

Little Suzi had a lovely day today. Things definitely looking up. She is truly probably the sweetest dog I have ever had, (Mine excluded obviously). She is so loving to everyone. Visitors today she just runs around loving everyone making sure none of us get jealous. She shares her love.
Happily took her neck lampshade off yesterday and she is so much happier without it. No licking and am sure her scar is healing nicely. Her cough is still there but nothing too bad. She is just a bundle of joy and nothing gets her down.
Is very good in her crate when resting and now goes loose in the garden gently enjoying sniffing where all the other dogs have been. Sadly cannot mix with them which is such a shame because she gets on so well with other dogs. She loved Scooby at Karen's.
A sheer joy of a dog. Lovely lovely girl

Little Suzi going to meet New Mummy on Thursday morning. She is very excited and is packing her little suitcase as we speak.
She is such a lovely girl I am sure she will have a fantastic forever home as her mummy sounded lovely on the phone.
I have said it before and I will say it again "I love a Happy Ending".
Well done Dee as always for finding such super homes and well done Suzi for being such a little love.
Valda said to me - a dog finds you - and I think as new mummy said she had been looking everywhere for quite a while but when she saw Suzi's photo she new she was the one she had been waiting for.
Suzi has found her Family!

Just back from vets with Suzi. Given all clear and they are very happy with her recovery. Put on weight, everyone does here, and looking very good.
Phone ringing on my return home - new mummy wanting update- now there is a devoted new mummy - love it. So she cannot wait until tomorrow morning and neither can I or Suzie. Lovely happy happy day.
We walked in the woods on the way back home, avoiding other dogs, sun shining, blue skies - must be an omen!

Suzi and I had a lovely drive to London. Except at the last minute when she managed to be sick everywhere in the front seat. Amazing how she managed to then jump on me and distribute it fairly about.
Anyway she was fine after that. Arrived at new mums home. Suzi jumped up wagged tail said "you'll do very nicely mum" and off she ran in the garden. Cat on shelf glanced at but no real notice taken. Suzi just seemed very happy to know no more b and b this is now my forever home.
With plans of a walk and a meal to settle her ringing in my ear I said my thank you's and goodbyes.
What a lovely little girl she is and I know they will all be very happy together.
The great thing about Rescue remedies - The team - From Lynne driving hundreds of miles ferrying these little ones around. Especially the pound runs where they literally are on death row - and then Up pulls Da Costa.
In you get my little one we can do better than this - Adverts placed by the likes of the lovely Sharon and others - fostered by the likes of Karen and myself and many others and low and behold the amazing Dee does it again and finds that perfect forever home. Team work - I love it !
So pat yourselves on the back, take a deep rewarding sigh of delight and on to our next rescue.
Thanks new mum and dad I know you will look after our Suzi, now YOUR Suzi, beautifully.
