Saint Saluki x Collie 1-2 yrs?Saint true to his name had to endure so much in his short life. He presented in rescue as emaciated..yet so trusting; weak yet full of fun; physically challenged yet hints this boy had yet to reach his prime..a shadow as a consequence of a sad sad life....
Saint had a chain of loving caring rescuers who helped him and loved him. But although he tried to thrive his system was damaged and his wings were wetted.
Thank God you didn't die in the pound..thank God Polly; Wendy; Sue; Christabel; Lorenzo; Anna; Jenny; Simon; Tim; Lucy and Liz had the pleasure of meeting you and seeing your spark. You spent your last night curled up on a comfy sofa with food and fresh water..and the view of our front flower garden to gaze on to..we wish we could have offered you more..It wasn't to be.. Fly home...
Saint's last picture taken on a walk with Anna and Jenny
Below is Saint's thread.
Saint
We don't have much more information on him..other than male and found stray. Currently in a Welsh pound and was 3 days from losing his life so we have stepped forwards for him.
He will travel down with Tufty and Ryan on Tuesday

Saint arrived today from Wales. Polly and Wendy who did the transport from Reading noticed how thin he was and so we decided he wasn't for kennels.
Sue took him straight to our vet..she wasn't concerned about his general health but suggested little meals often, to build him up. He looks Saluki x Collie so will be on the slender side but currently a bag of bones. Saint has eaten well tonight and will be rested well for the week. He is already neutered. Judging by his teeth we suggest he could be 5-7 yrs.
Very clingy currently when in his company but settles well in his own company. Loves people and will mix well with dogs and probably cats..judging by his meetings at the vet!

Saint out on his riverside walk wanting to go up and say hello to everyone..in a pleading..sad..soft kind of way. Saint has chase instinct..Saint is fabulous with dogs and meeting small children. What a gem.
The latter shows the sadness in his eyes..he also most has a weak; infirm feel..he will pick up in the next few days...

He is a lurcher then I presume? that explains the sadness they thrive on it He does look weak though, he is in the right place to come on in leaps and bounds.

Saint was mixed this afternoon. Generally he coped well with introductions but was chasing Minxie and Pippin (Pippin as Pippin was nervously barking and dancing around him)..so in the end I decided that was enough. Lorenzo mixed them this evening and all was quiet..when we went out. However after they had all been to the garden Saint was chasing Minxie..and when he caught her she stopped still trembling with her tail down..he didn't do anything but was waiting for her to move...to chase again. Poor Minxie..she sometimes acts as a cat test with lurchers sadly..no I will keep these 2 separated..she was frightened.

I'm sorry to have to say Saint is currently in the vets fighting for his life. He was booked in this am as I wanted to have a thorough investigation just the check there wasn't some serious underlying problem. But just 20 mins before we were due to leave there was a scuffle with the dogs and one dog gave him a puncture wound but this was under his tail and ruptured an artery. We flew to the vets and he went straight on the table. The vet however says she suspects some serious health issues underlying hence he has such pale jaundiced gums and haemophiliac. She did the blood test to find problems with his liver and also clots on his lungs..and the rupture not clotting as it should. She is checking him hourly but fears his condition too frail not only wont help him pulling through but might be just too challenguing for his system anyway. Pray for him...

The tears rolled down my face as you threw your paws around my neck in the car park, you were so thin I could even see the bones in your scull. Beautiful boy you jumped into the front seat of my car placed your head on my lap and off we went to Cristobel. I am so sorry we didn't get to you in time. Always in our thought
