Ruby came from Ireland as a frightened little girl..safe into Yasmina's arms. She was spotted on dogpages by neverenoughdogs...Claire I remember Yasmina & I going to meet Claire and her family the first opportunity after I came back from hols. We had other dogs in the car..but despite little Ruby's problems Claire was never going to turn her away..she was high with delight as she introduced Ruby to her pack.
If ever a dog landed on her 4 paws..she unpacked her hankerchief then made friends with her new children..Claire's work began. The news was astonishing the rosettes flowed in of different colours and sizes. Ruby was indeed that precious gem..she was worthy and achieved everything with 'a lot of fun had by all' (and hard hard work!) More over she has been a close member of her family and pack and loved by alllll.
Oh if only we could turn the clock back just 24 hours and replay this accident out- edit it..it shouldn't have happened but as with my dog I lost on the road..it somehow was destined to be. She wouldn't have felt a thing and her spirit will be close by, comforting her loved ones.
Some special dogs live short lives and leave such an impact on their loved one's heart. With Ruby she also taught so much...and deeply cared. She picked up her pack-mates illness before anyone had..she was gifted in so many ways and yet I hardly knew her. I feel I have so much to say she left a deep impression on me so what of those who enjoyed her daily and ran with her through her days. She will continue to be present.
Thank you Ruby...for your lasting impression..beautiful girl

There is an enormous collie shaped hole in my heart. The little thin girly that arrived at my house 2 years ago - the one that would growl under the table and herd you and nip at you. The little girl that was so tense her back legs ran sideways. Slowly the layers peeled back. She got cross, she threw tantrams and still we loved her.
The week before she died she had 2 agility wins and passed her KC bronze the day prior to the accident. She came second in the national rescue agility league despite only starting to compete half way through the season and was leading the league for 2008 as well as the Agility Club national league. She was top dog in the south east for 2007 in her grade.
All the trophies in the world (and she won quite a few) could never replace her. The fact that she ever made it into the ring was achievement enough for me. I couldn't care less about it - I would give anything to have her back. Even if every bone in her body was broken. Alas it is not meant to be. She did what she needed to do on this earth. I can only take peace in that her passing was instant.
My naughty little teabag just couldn't give up the cars. We worked hard on her love of them and she was almost cured, but it something I believe always stays in their mind. She loved the thrill of the chase.
I have lost my little hot water bottle and my heart is broken.
