Roxy 5yrs Staffie Hillingdon Middx

Roxy is a black and tan bitch who was an unwanted pet.
It was requested that she go into rescue a while back and she has been on the waiting list of some rescues but never with an offer of a space.
The owners contacted a colleague of mine who has been searching for a home for her. The owners decided to put an advert on Gumtree but some very unsavoury characters came forward for her. This freaked the owners out a bit who mentioned the advert to my colleague and he told them to remove the ad immediately.
Because this girl was in danger of going somewhere unsuitable (bad area and lack of transport for the owner) Rescue Remedies agreed to take.

Roxy has recently been spayed and is fully vaxed and microchipped.

She arrives on Wednesday.

Roxy has arrived I believe.

Yes Roxy is here now. Such a sweet older girl. Very calm and self composed. When I saw her first of all I did a double take because she was in Ronnie's old kennel but she is smaller with similar colouring.
Muddled along very happily with Sadie.

You have no idea what it's like to walk with little Roxy..  she bustles on in front as though she is a 4'10" 'doll' dressed up to 'kill' with her little stilettos and tight fitting little black number.  I roared with laughter and funnily enough so did she!

Want to get to know me?

I'm a great cuddle..

Welcome back Emma from your hols..any time you feel stressed you just come and see me!

She is rather adorable...you never told me you were getting me in that shot!!! Emma in the rougher part of the day!  Rolling Eyes

She is a very easy going lady and as you can see loves her belly tickled for as long as you possibly can. Smile

Oh what a Topsy Turvey 24 hours for Roxy.  I stayed late yesterday with Tara and Chaz's owners looking for a 3rd Staffie Dawn (daughter) has Tara and Vicky and Nigel (son) have Chaz but want a pair as they once had. I forgot about Roxy! Dee mentioned her last night and I couldn't believe I had forgotten her with a thought note to re contact the family. I was just arriving at the vets this am to meet Jess Border Collie when I got an SOS call to come and get Roxy and take her to the vet. She had attacked the kennel bars in a thunder storm and must have caught her tooth and it ended up embedded in her jaw..she was in such pain. I flew..and Rachel carried her to the car as she had hurt her left shoulder also. Christabel our vet extracted the tooth and impacted bone without GA..Roxy was such as good girl. She had a thorough checkover and allowed to settle in the surgery while I waited on x-ray for Jess.

I called the family and this afternoon Roxy was introduced to her new pack.  She is very down so her pictures show a downcrested Roxy but she is safe and will settle receiving so much love.

I am so pleased that Roxy was found somewhere to go.

When she first came into kennels she was fine, but it was plainly obvious that after being fostered and returned again to kennels that she was not happy. This morning on arrival at the kennels she was such a sorry state and for any of my little angels (rescues or boarders) to be in any sort of discomfort is like one of my own dogs hurting. Sad

Luckily Lynne was able to sort this out very quickly and she did not stay in pain for too long and for her to be offered the chance of a new home so quickly..well, that was just the biggest result ever! Very Happy

I see that Chaz is taking it all in his stride. The type of 'What's all the fuss about?' look in the third pic!

Sadly Roxy and Tara had 2 set-toos today. I'm afraid 2 staffie bitches are a difficult combination no blame just chemistry has to be just right! So Roxy is coming back tomorrow. However it has been a really lovely experience  for her and she has had a chance to recover from the pain she suffered last week with her dental work etc.  So thanks to Chaz's family and Tara's mum for offering her such a wonderful opportunity away from kennels.

Oh so sorry to hear that - hope they are both OK.  Must be sad for the family too.

Rachel at the kennels is going to be over the moon though  Smile

Roxy didn't quite make it back today. The family sat back and analysised the events; How, Why, What actually happened. They want to keep Roxy there and see if they can work it through with Tara if not put her up for rehoming -fostering her until she finds her home. Laughing

That's good news, lets hope they can turn it around.

Roxy was adopted today.  She is one loved dog.  Gets on well with Chaz, walks with Tara both on leads as not fully trustworthy together but tolerant. Roxy has lost weight and now very trim and in good health. So pleased for her and them.

hi,

Taras mummy dawn here,we have managed to sort out the differences as we could not bare to part with any dog no matter what the problems..so as chas runs free on walks we now have the two girls on leads as they walk side by side..small price to pay for having both dogs in their homes and having two hour walks together...they are still not too keen on one another but as they dont have to live together its not such a problem...loving having roxy, chas and my ever lovable tara in our lives.

Great news and am so glad you have found a workable solution.  All wonderful dogs and so deserving of loving homes.  Well done and thank you.  Give Tara a peck for me  Wink
