2nd January Friday
Jack's Red Fell day today Nahla had her new family visit ..they collect her over the weekend Details coming through on the dogs we have had to save or support over the last week Rudi; Linda and Denise; Kia; still to gain info. on Honey; Pepsi and Baisey Ben having a great time in foster Toby and Glenn have both been playing with him today. His confidence is very very good..sweet sweet nature Bailey big debates on what would be in her best interest re remaining with us or placed with specialist GSD rescue. Decided to focus on her needs and try a get her into foster with Emma. She passed her cat test today. News in on Kadin and Peaches today..both doing well Neutering booked Terrier; Bubbly; Peter; Arnie and Collie x being neutered in Wales and then transported to save my time. Ben Monday Denise and Linda, Chancer Wednesday; Tess Thursday; Nathan and Merlin Friday. Dehlia; Baisley and Honey still to book. Kia and Molly sorted by their fosterers. Anyone who can do a run from Gatwick 8.30 to 9.30 Twickinham/ Kew or delivery back in late afternoon 4.30 - arrival 6pm will take the sole pressure of myself. Hoping some foster places will come up now Christmas is over Credit crunch has hit Rescue Remedies not surprizingly. All funds accounted for..will have to say no to 'bull breed dogs inparticular for atleast 6 weeks. Oh that is a hard one. We have many currently we are committed to all but homings are slow. The easier dogs to home will help the longer term dogs. We will continue to have a lot of luck! The organisation will continue to change as people come on board and others get off the ever moving ship. We will now pursue Charitable status with a vengance. |

Another Collie x has gone into foster so we wouldn't move her out into kennels so have agreed to take Donny instead. Peter; Arnie and Bubbly all booked for neutering Wednesday and travel Friday to our kennels |

Patch's day today...WE HOPE! Fab home...Fab dog! Sad news that Sparky passed over to the rabbit fields.. Sebastian has an admirer coming on Friday Rudi was viewed today by a family who were full of praise for him but too high energy for their old dog. Lots of background emailing;sorting; telephone work; kennel dog walking; foster doggie caring and lead chasing going on by 'team'. Homecheck carried out for another charity and family offered to transport for us. Updating the RR Poster for Sharon to email to vet practises you realise how many special longstay dogs we have homed these last few weeks!!! |

We have then purchased a website host and package and the next week is involved in getting it up and running.. well we have the dogs sitting on the shelf just everything else to work out and discuss. 2 very clear principles 1) no telephone number as else we would be snowed under, like we are now, with Staffie enquiries moving their dogs on..so they will be directed to a questionnaire if they want our help. 2) No dogs adverted until neutered unless under age. |

19th January Monday
Took in Lillie; Lucky and Benny Fab. news in on Buddy Missy Rottie up for re-homing How can a day that was so demanding have such little shared. Flew out the house 7.20 and arrived at the kennels 9.30 having sat in traffic re an accident on A217. Dog to take to the vet had been fed so got in the car without him and got home 11 am. Drama going on about Missy coming back. Placed adverts up and answered phone; left 2.30 Sat Nav would not register destination and took me to the wrong place totally then abandoned it and found my way to kennels to collect dogs in Croydon 4.45 drove to Gatwick kennel long debate with vets about the bitch Lillie and whether we op. spay and remove mammory tumours tomorrow or leave. Ended up bringing Nathan who should have been neutered today to vets for overnight stay so he can be neutered tomorrow. Home at 7.45. Need more transporters; need different Sat Nav. purchasing tomorrow; one of those days where I feel I can't go on..but then the kennels were so helpful and supportive; the vets are arranging Tuesdays as our day for neutering to avoid the Monday pressure..we carry on

Donny was given Peace Nathan was neutered Lucky very withdrawn and causing concern but got up and ate a little this evening Good Staffie home lady went to meet our Staffies in Croydon this pm but apparently got overwhelmed; gave a donation in appreciation of our work and went away to collect her thoughts Reviewing Dee's workload as unmanageable; needing to make decisions on what is possible and what just can't be done. |

Thoughts are with Lily Barney's (Joey) day today (FVH) Molly moved into foster with Sally Roxy was spayed Honey and JJ vetchecks Alice doing well Jonny; Tess (Charlotte); Rachel; Edgar; Jaxon arrived plus Fifi lots of activity around the kennel dogs! This week has been an amazing week and I feel bursting with gratitude seeing each ones efforts in supporting our dogs. I want to list some of these efforts but fear I will not be able to mention everyone .. forgive me I can list and list, but will only list a few of the many 'gold star' efforts over the last 7-10 days which stand out in my mind. VETS: Mr Andre operating again on our Cece even though it is the very week he retires. Marg operating on Lily, her dear one, for the love of Lily. Tim, Liz and team slipping an extra neutering in (Smokey and Roxy), even though their lists are full. Christabel, Wendy & team so gently putting 2 of our dogs to sleep with such love and dignity as though they were their own. Other vet practises that have neutered, vax'd and chipped our dogs at much reduced costs preparing them for homing. Kennel carers: Alyson, Maurice and team (Gatwick) worrying about our dogs so tenderly and with such love and putting them on build-up diets, special regimes and extra special kennels to suit their every need without a mention. Today going over to Reading services and transporting our 6 dogs in from Wales! Emma and Janet (Croydon)well what can we say .. doing wonders with our dogs especially Bailey who due to their extra special love and knowledge have turned the frightened Bailey through towards meeting, interacting with and now living with her new family; saving dogs lives with such determination against all the odds just gritting their teeth and gazing at the one or two or 5 that desperately knock on their door .. as Emma said its this or the freezer! Cherie, Dillie and Ian (Farnham) who always have a smile on their faces and keen to communicate ideas and support ideas. So accommodating and diligent. And the rest of the team, which is a huge umbrella of efforts where so little is mentioned, just being there for the dog(s) in front of them. Too many to mention .. but I have to say Sharon who keeps us smiling; alert and encouraged as she broadcasts our deeds to the world in verse and poem; Jane who runs a family, her husband's business, whilst pushing the cogs so we stay in motion least we or she ever stops; Dee who has been in emotional turmoil for the past 3 weeks - health not A1 - plus plus yet there she is on the 'bone' - educating; match making; and making everyone laugh (and herself) .. John as her support. Katie ever cheerful; developing our enquiries line and teezing out information which hopefully will support successful homings; Karen and Elaine who always seem to be there - when aren't they there! Jess who moves her life around helping her fosters - to see Honey on her lap today was a picture. Loul; Ollie; Michelle; Sally; Belles mum; Jilly; Tina D; Lola's mum; Ange; Ange (transport) Marian; Polly; Dee R; Paula; Verb1301; Alison; Judy; Nikkiandy always ready to jump, in whatever way they can; Ruthi; who with literally with 30 mins notice took Molly in with her little pups and nursed them over Xmas period; managed them under duress of running her business and saw them through to pass on safely the day before she flew off for her honeymoon rest. Then a growing band of forum members; RR/ TR supporters who support with their thoughts, words, actions and finances which gives the team a solid bouyant feel of support, ideas and caring. I have to always say the true stars are our dogs who teach us everything we know, so worthily pick the very best of homes ... so deserved .. they change from paupers to Lords and Ladies ... all our thanks goes to those who offer them the very very best embracing them as family members so their transformation is sealed. |

Everywhere is snowed up and dogs have been having a wonderful time. Past owners contacting us and sending pictures..feels like a special day Sadly heard Molly a border collie we homed 2-3 yrs ago died..of old age she was obviously older than we had thought at the time, and she had a eye condition that rendered her blind. Perked up enough to be chatting up the vet girls whenever they came in his room by 5-6 tonight! Trying to keep fliuds down. Should know better how he is tomorrow morning at least he is warm and in the best care with Christabel Bailey came back nervous around woman needs more time Fifi doing well Oscar agreed to take 1 yr old bouncy Staffie who was taken to vets to be PTS for being mouthy but just hasn't developed fully yet. Maggie went into foster. Mindy Emma's foster spayed and full dental bless she is about 10 yrs old, very early stages of pregnancy and 4 teeth needed out. She will feel a lot better tomorrow Spud GSD cross neutered taking to biggsd tomorrow for socialisation and assessment. Chips; Major; Bernie and Frankie-Boy all vet checked and vaccinated Mac transported down from Lancaster into Gatwick Ozzie JRT came in to Gatwick as an emergency, a very frightened boy. Cookie meeting special people tomorrow Dee had a dreadful day on the phone all day trying to stop Charlie going back into kennels very tearful; but trying every possible lead we could then Judy and her family stepped forwards, despite being very difficult for her. Funny day..I'd call it an upside down day! Windy day Our Fern turned out to be infection back again and exploring lump suspect deep fat lump.. Sadly Skip, Rigsby's treasure died today Another dog we were feeling we had to be there for turned out to be sorted. JJ went into foster..so so happy is he! Misty Spent 5 hours in the car taking her to our vet and back, only to find she had been to the same vet 2 days earlier but no notes came with her just antibiotics we felt something was a miss, aftermath of pregnancy playing its way through. Pickles got a sense of her and hopefully ears not as bad as we thought they were. Neutering set for tomorrow couldn't go ahead but 2 set up (Pickles and Saffy - Emma's Rescue) for Wednesday Beano due to be picked up - now delayed for tomorrow; as is homecheck for Rachel Unsettled undercurrent energy in the rescue, usually really focused harmonious energy. Changes are occurring and people perhaps feel the pace is too fast, or unclear of our direction. All will settle and finds its own level. Let it play out, but dont play into it, else it becomes destructive and wastes energy that's so needed for our dogs. |

Dee is a busy bee..lots of movement there..results will show in homing soon..and with dogs from other rescues that Dee has match made on! (3 occassions this week I have narrowly missed a motorway accident - have spent an hour each time stationary on the motorways waiting for the accidents to be cleared which in distance must have been 2-4 miles distance from me when it happened..on how lucky am I!) |

16th March Monday
Ozzie was assessed by an orthopaedic expert. The recommendation is to take his right back hip joint out and leave it to settle, which will reduce any pain and discomfort. Tim our vet has agreed to do this operation next Monday. Peteandcaz are keeping Ozzie until Wednesday when Emma will start to foster him. Rusty now vax'd and checked..booked for spay, dental and chip Thursday Beano doing well, touch of sneezing, but such a character...all is well. Jessie, Holly and Howard collected today and now at Croydon. Hazel has visitors tomorrow Lucy JRT now on our books with an interested party |
