Re appraisal of your own image and confidence with StaffiesI am often reminded where I was 5 yrs ago in my negative image of Staffies even though I was involved in dog rescue. Many people in rescue still hold that image and have little chance of rehoming their staffies as they 'don't believe in them' Others are describing what they want in a dog and failing to see that 'but i dont want a Staffie' doesn't equate with describing everything a staffie could offer.
I have been lucky enough to have lots of up close and initially uncomfortable moments with Staffies. Uncomfortable in the sense my own fears and reserves..nothing coming from them! Now completely bowled over by them as a breed type and my confidence with them has transformed into deep appreciation. Why not challenge your own 'feelings' re the breed and volunteer to meet Ali12345 at the Croydon kennels for a one off walk and see if our staffies can do it for YOU TOO!

Hi We would love to meet ali12345 with our Staff, as we were told by the rescue centre he was "dog aggresive". We sourced a dog behaviourist and he said Bud is not dog aggresive and we attend "social" classes with him, however it would be good to get him to walk with other staffies as i want another one but its trying to convince my husband!! Unfortunatley we went away for a few days and let him with the dog sitter and when we came back he was limping badly. The vet said that its pulled muscles in his right front leg and he has to have complete rest from walking....try telling that to a Staffie! he doenst seem to be improving and we are back at the vets on Saturday...BUT ali12345 arranges another one when Bud is better we can come and join!!

I am reminded of Liza who was adamant that she wanted something small and fluffy, till she fostered Cody. She is positive now that only a staffy will do, though if its a girlie, it'll probably have to have a pink collar!

Hi,
don't know when you are around but i am at the kennels every Friday. If you arrange to meet up I'm sure we can find a friendly staffie to walk with Bud. Of course the girls do tend to go quickly but we have 2 lovely girls just in....

ohh thank you soo much...........we are told another 2 weeks before we can get his walks back up to speed....i can not tell you how guilty i feel leaving him to go on holiday....and to top it all he has a throat infection and sounds like he has smoked 40 fags!!!
