Purdy Staffie and proud of it!Purdy...so pure. Lovely lovely girl. Just 24 hours in our care..no..in foster yes but Reclaimingrebus had you in her care and tried so hard to trace your owner and find you as safe place. Purdy unfortunately had a clotting deficiency which manifest with her spay and in fact was getting worse affecting sights other than her op. We had to let her go as she would not have recovered.

Purdy is coming into foster on Wednesday. She is moving directly from kennels to the vet to be spayed and her mouth ulcers checked. She will then sleep in our home and wake up to a whole new world. Can't wait to meet her...

Purdy went to the vets today and was spayed and chipped. She was either very close to season or just out the other side. She is wobbly at the moment as you can see but I did flash some pics..and yes ?who does she remind you of....clue... is she sweeter than.....?

Purdy developed a large swelling on her op. site last night. I spoke to the emergency vet. 1 hour later she started to drip blood I rushed her to the emergency vet and he examined treated and bandaged her. She couldn't tolerate being in their kennel so I took her home and slept with her in her room.
We went to Tim this morning and he drained the old blood and she was rebandaged. She had a gentle walk and was carried upstairs where she settled . I left her 2 hours all was quiet then she began to muoow..so I got her some food ready and went to find the floor covered with fresh blood. We flew to the vets and Tim rushed back from his lunch break to meet us..and she was on the table for 1 and a half hours whilst Tim tried to stop bleeding but despite the op. site was in tact she was oozing blood from her vessels and around her kidneys. Her prognosis was very slim as the situation almost seemed to get worse as they swobbed the site. We had to let her go as she was going into an emergency bleeding situation.
I wrote to Elaine reclaimingrebus last night that we had formed a very close bond. She was great with other dogs and so so beautiful in character and looks. Oh sweet one we wish we knew you for longer...all our love

when I walked to meet you, Lynne , to hand over Purdy, she was desperate to get to you - it was like she'd seen a long lost friend. It was so marked that I wondered if she'd mistaken you for someone else.
If it hadn't been for you she'd have died a fortnight ago, but she went , comfortable and cared for and loved. If dogs only live in the present, then her present was shining.
It's such a dreadful dreadful shame, but there's always another starfish on the beach, and we just have to keep slogging on, picking up the pieces.
