Ollie the greyhoundWe lost our Ollie a few weeks ago and life just isn't the same without a big black goofy greyhound in the house. Zack kept us on our toes and although we loved having him, our lurcher says he was too high maintenance for her. So we have to think greyhound/lurcher again. We will be going to visit Rodney in Bristol in a few weeks - he was born with a slight skull deformity, and overshot jaw, then he lost a toe and most of his tail. He is a very nervous boy so it may not work out but at least we can foster him for a while. Of course, he is dog friendly so we will be able to foster when he settles with us. That was our main thing looking for another boy - would he let us bring dogs into the house. There are so many dogs we could home if our circumstances were different but our current dogs are our priority. To name a few we would have loved : Alfie, Zack, Hazel, Tiger Lily, Amba, Shiva, Daisy, George, Blake, Buster, Ronnie, Chaz, Pickles,Julia, Maggie,Rhea,Derek,Marli.

I think all of them would be bordering on animal hoarding
You are doing a wonderful job as it is.

Luckily for me I get to spend time with all these lovely dogs even though I can't take them all home

Oh he is so handsome. He looks like a deer in the photo - just needs a pair of antlers, if you know what I mean. Sincerely hope everything goes well for you all with Rodney.

Funny you should say that. I thought he looked more like a goat. Anyway, I am sure Rodney is a very lucky greyhound.

Had another chat with the rescue today and it looks like it may be too difficult to rehome him from a distance because of his extreme nervousness. He is a lot worse than I thought from previous conversations and will need several visits before he could leave with someone. Very nervous of children so although mine are older they are probably too noisy at times when they have friends around and this would make his nerves worse.

He'll find a home- he is safe and it always perks a rescue up when they have good positive enquiry like yours it reminds them that their dog is homeable. Chin up and send him lots of positive thoughts that his family comes soon.
