Mouse Ped Lakie 8 yrsDear Mouse may you be born again and enjoy your terrier ways ..her advert is below.......
Mouse
Mouse is a loved terrier who is not coping with the inherient freedoms in her particular setting. She is perfect in the house with her manners; housetraining and enjoys her family. She reacts to the postperson..but generally welcoming of visitors. She likes to stand at the gate and will bark at passersby especially if they have a dog. Will go for dogs outside but friendly with a Lab. and Border Terrier nextdoor. Managed on a lead as recall poor. Recently had an incident with a sheep which has prompted the rehoming as she lives in a farm.

We said we would be there for her and they agreed they would not do the deed. We could have helped Mouse ...alas received this ..not consulted but informed.
Dear Lynne
I am very sorry to tell you but we have had Mouse put down today. I have taken advice from many people including yourself and decided that in the long run this was the only option and infact the kindest to her. She will not have had any pain and will be at rest.
My biggest fear was that she would hurt someone or another animal here or in any future home and that is not something I could live with. We cannot except someone else to live with these consequences. Re homing would be very difficult and that could easily have failed only meaning she would need to be moved on again. She is a very nervous dog and all this would only have added to her stress.
THANK you for all your help. I am sure the many other dogs who can be given help are very lucky to have you.
Thanks
Kind Regards

Poor Mouse.
I'm sure the owners felt they were doing what was best. Having had our first German Shepherd put down after she bit the paper girl, I know exactly the torment they must have gone through before taking this step.

MOUSEI'm really sad to read this thread. Surely these people should have returned the dog to the rescue centre if they couldn't cope with it as there are animal behaviourists who cld have helped little mouse overcome her fears. What an awful shame, poor little dog.
