Thanks Sharon, What a cutie she is
I think only arriving here about 3pm ish yesterday & having so many new things to deal with she was a little overwhelmed, but she ate well & slept all night without a sound & that little rudder was wagging like mad this morning when I came down.
We've had a few little grumbles but then my 2 are big & she is tiny but my 2 are giving her space & I am correcting her with a firm NO. Oh & she loves her cuddles on the SOFA! lol
She has been to see Chris my vet who said what a lovely temprement she has, then we all walked up the woods (my 2 gsd's & Molly) the army were firing but she wasn't bothered. We then went to agility class at lunch time where she met new friends & watched us train.
She has a huge interest in my aviary & has looked at the chooks but again a firm no & she comes away.
She will need time to settle in so slowly but surely, she has met my son & loves him & hubby too.
Will work out how to do the pics, I promise

Another quiet night, only 1 little problem, Molly decided she fancied Toula's crate for her bed she made herself right at home making the bed just right
Today we walked with my friend & her 4 Gsd's & Molly took it all in her stride, she wasn't bothered at all. The army were there again today & again she wasn't worried by them.
She even had a swim & has decided that its great fun when the others are leaping around in the water to follow her sister & bark at her
Here are a couple of pics
Having a swim!

Not a good night for Molly last night, there was a thunder storm here & poor girl was in a right panic. But we got through it after while of rushing about trying to hide she eventually wedged herself behind me, after a while her head came out although her breathing was faster than normal & she was shaking, I slowly started some T. Touch on her & she gradually stopped shaking & went to sleep next to me, then her breathing also began to return to normal. It is hard not to lay hands on too soon as I do not want to reinforce the behaviour with her.
It is awful to see her like this but today in anticipation of more storms I have been out & got her some valerian tincture to help her stay calm. So fingers crossed it works or better still we don't get anymore storms. I also noticed she reacted to a firework sound that was on the TV so will probably have a similar reaction on bonfire night My last JRT was the same with fireworks so its something I have dealt with before
She has had a good day again today, playing with toys, out walking up the woods & some positive interaction with Toula & Cyrus.
Had to share this, Molly went into the crate Cyrus uses & found his chew he burried ages ago, funny thing is it's nearly as big as her

Hi Hazel
Have you tried a D.A.P. plug in infuser? Might we worth a try with the storms.
Sounds like you really have things under control though - am impressed, particularly re T.Touch.
Am enjoying the updates too.

Have used DAP collars in the past with the Gsd's & they definately work.
Will consider the infuser as it can be switched on when needed. Have heard the valerian is good for settling pets or Rescue Remedies so will see how we go.
Did notice this afternoon she was unsettled, kept going to the backdoor looking out & pacing so gave her a dose of valerian in milk & she became less agitated. They can sense a storm hours before we can so maybe she was picking something up. Still early days but she is brill, just need to get the panic attacks under control & I'll be over the moon.
Luv her to bits

Dear Hazel having spoken to you I knew you would be a perfect mum to little Molly. She looks like she is having so much fun. If only all our dogs could land on their paws like she has. Well done you and the 2 big doggies. What a wonderful life this young girl will have with you. Happy endings - I love them!

Thank you Jill, so glad we have Molly she is so funny. Today I came home to see this little face appearing every so often by the door handle on the backdoor, she was jumping up at the door because she had heard me come home, for such a tiny girl she has a huge jump
She is so friendly to all we meet, that tail doesn't stop wagging
Oh BTW are you going to the DBARC show at Wokingham tomorrow (19th July) we will be there and If you are going we could meet up ??? I will be in & around the Biggsd stall, if not ask for me & someone on there will let you know where I am.

Well after a disturbed night Mon/tues 2am, last night when putting this lot to bed Molly decided she was sleeping in Toula's crate! Toula's expression said it all but went in with Molly and they slept together in the crate all night with no problems.
This morning we walked the canal (the quieter end) and when we were at a point where Cyrus likes to swim I let Molly off and took this clip on my phone (sorry not very clear)
Molly has been very good with my 2, they now play together, she likes to jump on them when they are laying down she has a thing for their ears! Cyrus isn't good with other dogs & can be naughty with them but he is so gentle with Molly, she lays between his front legs on her back & instigates play. She does the same with Toula who just stands & barks at her
They are all sleeping on the bed in the kitchen as I write this ........ recharging their batteries for the next playtime

Molly & Cyrus
Molly likes leaping on Cyrus, she goes for his ears. Cyrus is my other rescue who is not always very friendly to other dogs, so I am very happy that Molly has won him over

Who needs a dog bed when you have a GSD to lie on...

The thing is she wants to eat him!

I noticed that tendency... explain to her that you can't have your GSD and eat him too...
Lovely, lovely photos - they've really brought a smile here.

It's been a while since I last updated Molly's thread, so here goes ......
It's been 3 & 1/2 months since Molly came to stay, she has settled in very well with us & adores my 2 sheps, Toula & Cyrus. As said at the beginning of her thread she is noise sensitive she hates the rain especially if it is heavy & thunder storms I assume she relates the two & gets in a pickle.
Well with this in mind I am also assuming that fireworks will have the same effect BUT to my surprise & huge relief someone near us had a firework party last weekend, now my sheps always want to go out & shout at the fireworks so when I opened the backdoor I couldn't believe my eyes as the mad dash out into garden their were all 3 of them hurtling down the garden barking their heads off at the noisey bright things in the sky. To say I'm pleased at Molly's response is an understatement!
There have been huge improvements with this little girl, I can now leave her when go out shopping (boring ) without Molly barking & crying & getting stressed out.
She thoroughly enjoys her walks up the woods with all her friends & I have had many compliments about how lovely she is & this is from GSD owners who don't do 'little' dogs & I think as far as Molly is concerned she believes she is a big dog but in a little body.
Anyway that's the latest ........

That's a pretty good definition of a JRT
I hope there will be some photos again soon of little Molly and what's left of her GSDs

Priceless... she covers three times the ground that they do! I love the fact that they totally ignore all the noise and just carry on doing their important stuff. She's a real live wire little Molly!!!

Poor Molly hasn't enjoyed the fireworks & it didn't help her yesterday as I had to go into hospital for the day but couldn't get home before they started. Hubby couldn't leave the house as she was frantic although we had a sedative from the vet for her. As soon as I got home she settled by me on the sofa & went to sleep. I think she is far better when I am around as we had more fireworks tonight but although she was worried & unsettled she stayed by me which really helped her as I ignore any of her stressy behaviour. Soon as she sees that no one else is bothered she does settle, but it will take time..... Bless her she is such a little sweetheart

We are making progress with Molly when there is rain she does go into flight/hide (but not as bad as when she first came to live with us) mode but she is ignored & my other dogs don't react so gradually she is seeing that it is only her who is worried. Night time if it rains she whimpers but soon settles, I either tell her ssshhh or quiet or if it is really heavy rain I close the bedroom window.
Where we walk it is MOD land & just lately there has been a lot of action, gun fire etc. now instead of panic & tail down & try to climb up my legs she will stop, listen, slight tail drop sometimes comes back to me which I then ignore & then she cannot see anyone else reacting so carries on with the walk but doesn't go too far out of sight
So from her first weeks with us she has come on in leaps & bounds but she is still learning that not every noise is a major threat to her.
I took some video of them all running up the woods but the file is too big to load on here. Will have another go & try & keep it short & sweet
