Saw the lovely Missy briefly and she is a petite pretty girl but difficult to contain. Must get some more photos though - so much prettier than her picture.

Met Missy today. She is very skinny and was initially a bit nervous when I went into her kennel. Once I had a harness on her and opened the door however, she was off!!! She pulled a little bit at first but was otherwise quite good on the lead. We walked alongside Cassie most of the way and they were good as gold. Missy wasn't bothered by the cars and other than a bit of interest in the horses, she was happy to just walk along nicely. She was happy to sit and wait when the cars went by. Think she is a lovely dog and hope she will be snapped up quickly.

She met and walked beautifully with Bella..initally pulling but settled into the walk so after its commencement. Will spay her this week she is healthy and needs to get the unpleasantries out of the way!

Missy went for spay today..but upon opening up it was discovered she was already spayed. She was already chipped as well. Ah well at least we know for sure now. Lovely to spend the day with her.

Well we met the lovely Missy today. We knew her straight away as she had been described as "as skinny as a plate rack"! Well she is coming on a treat, still thin and her coat is a little scurvy, but she is bouncing back and her personality is there for all to see. Pretty & sweet little girl, but judge for yourselves ...

After seeing Missy in her kennel this week jumping about I was expecting a struggle to get her into the halti, not at all, she was excellent, sat there calmly while I slipped it on.
Didn't like the halti at first but soon got used to it, she was lovely to walk, really calm, sat when told to and walked at a very gentle pace with no pulling. Lovely walk in the sunshine.

We researched Missy background via her microchip number this week to find her actual name is Missy. In truth she was called this but we had thought it was an invented name as she was found stray and we decided to change her name as we have so many Missys on our books. We now find out Niall had also researched her chip. Emma has always said she responds to Missy and so sorry folks have changed her record.

She has had at least 2 other homes. We find that there are 5 standard staffie stories and Missy has number 2 trace the microchip and the original owner says I gave her way or sold her on, no record of who to and no I dont want her back!' (By the way Missy doesn't want to come back to you and is going to be loved to bits as she is now!)

If she's already been spayed by a previous owner, them it goes to show that somebody somewhere along the line must have cared enough about her for this to be done. I hope she finds her 'forever home' soon; just sorry I can't be the one (yet) as I'm working full-time.

Missy is filling out nicely now and looking so much better. Had a lovely walk with her today - just the harness so pulled at first but after burning off her energy in the heat she soon settled. When she turns round to check on you she reminds me of Charlie. Just a lovely walk without incident and relaxed. Good girl at the cafe while I had my lunch and whilst friendly to people she showed no tendency to jump up to greet them although she did take a fancy to a workmen's teacup on the ground as we passed by going into the underpass.

I took Missy out today, put the halti on her with no problems at all, she walked perfectly, no pulling, trotting along just in front of me. We walked alongside a Labrador as far as the chicken farm, she was brilliant with him a few sniffs of eachother and they were happy as Larry Very Happy

At the halfway point we had a great big fuss where she decided to wash me Shocked

We went a bit further today as it was a lot cooler than of late, a lovely girl and a lovely walk. Very Happy

One rainy afternoon...

Missy is a lovely smaller staffie. Cheerful, attractive, affectionate. She really relates to you and needs someone with time to offer her what she needs. She is coping well in kennels but oh so deserves to be in her home.

Missy and I had a lovely walk in the sunshine today. I put the halti on her with no problems, however, today she decided she didn't want to wear it at all, no matter how I tried she keep clawing at it, in the end I gave in so she didn't damage herself.
After I put the harness on her she was brilliant, she sat on command on approach of traffic, didn't pull on the lead and gave loads of affection back when I made a fuss of her.
We bumped into Cassie on the way back, after a short time sniffing each other Missy decided to wash Cassies' face Shocked

She definately didn't want to go back in the kennel today, once inside she sat in front of the gate refusing to budge so I couldn't get out, eventually bribed my way out with a treat Exclamation

Missie walked nicely with Winnie today. At first Winnie was a bit keen for Missie but by the time they were heading back, Missie was encouraging her. It was so nice to see them interacting calmly and a little unexpected as both can be choosy about their friends! Lots more socializing will be great for Missie. Again she was wise to nearing the kennel and wanted to stay in the orchard area to play. So I held her harness and encouraged her back!
She was very calm at the cafe and very well behaved. Her fur is so soft to touch, a real sweetie all round.

Missy stands there every day watching the goings on of the kennels. She has a wonderful vantage point to see all and is so good and so patient. A lovely girl who hasn't had the interest to our surprise.

I took Missy out this morning after returning with Minx, Missy makes the most curious wimpering sound as you approach the kennels. She let me put the halti on her without protest, and after a few protest tugs she was fine with it.
On the walk she was great, trotted along next to me, very interested in everything around her but on command she would leave anything she was too interested in.
At the halfway point we sat down and made a fuss of eachother, I poured water into a small bowl for her, however, the only way she would drink it was if I poured it into my cupped hand, she then drank out of my hand Shocked

I can't believe I'm pandering the whims of such a diva Wink

A bit of a wet walk in the rain, but still enjoyable all the same........

Missy found her family today..she was just getting over kennel cough and just settling into her new kennel. Yes Missy always seemed to get the best kennels- tells me she was a favourite! Well she is now the favourite with her new family and it's smiles all round.
