Mini breaks for dogsI’m just wondering if there has been a policy change on “short-term fostering”. When I originally applied the response was that taking the dogs (staffies in particular) away either for a weekend or a few days was not a good idea as this would unsettle the dogs once they were returned to the kennels - which seemed fair enough. But it now seems that treating dogs to a “mini break” is no longer a problem and even a welcome option. I did manage to look after Frank for a couple of weeks, but due to my circumstances I can commit to that length of time only once in a blue moon.

We take every case on its merits some of our dogs couldn't cope with the 'return', others have a wealth of experiences to mull over on return from a day out or weekend. We have always tried to offer this Remembering Ozzie a disable JRT was taken on holiday by peteandcaz and it made his life; Taz was taken out for the day and he found his home as a consequence; Alfie was taken out for the day and the video that resulted found him his home.

Sorry to revive this old thread, but with Christmas not too far off might it perhaps not be a good idea to list those dogs who might be suitable for a mini-break over the Christmas period?
