Mickey Staffie 8yrs all rounder Mattingly Hook HampshireMickey came to us on Monday 12th Oct. He was living in a multidog / cat household. The RSPCA instructed the numbers had to come down. They were due to put him to sleep on Monday but when kittens were delivered by the family into a foster family for the RSPCA Mickey was bought along too as a desperate ploy to save him. He went into a cat household no problems but the family couldn't hold him being a working family so were due to take him to his 'appointment' if no rescue place could be found on Sunday. 'Little Dog Rescue' did a massive call around and fell off their chairs when we said yes we'd be delighted to help him. They kindly delivered him to the Gatwick kennels on Monday lunchtime from Dover and gave £25 in support. We are very grateful to them.
Met Mickey on the 15th October. We had a eventful walk..oh my God..Mickey hasn't been walked before! He was delighted..a walk through the wood was like alladin's cave running from branch to branch in 'staffie fashion'. He settled a little within the fields but had no sense of the lead and its (& my ) limitations! So wonderful to see his enjoyment. He has had a flea allergy hence his fur loss and received 'Adovate' to treat .
Big staffie and very beautiful..

I brought this boy up from Kent and he was an angel in the car, he jumped right up into the crate and settled down happily.
He is a big cuddle monster and I am so grateful to Rescue Remedies for saving him, thank you so much. Give him a cuddle for me next time you see him xx Good luck finding your forever home Mickey, they are going to be one lucky family

I was a little worried about what to expect but Mickey has settled now and although not easy to walk he was certainly pretty average for a bigger boy He was a little keen on sticks/branches but was easily distractable. With his broad head he reminded me of Tiger Lily when he turned to look at me.
Walked nicely past the kennels.
Look forward to getting to know him better.

Walked Mickey again on Friday with my daughter. Calm in his kennel and looked hopeful every time I went past. Was more active on the walk and I had to be a little more persuasive to get him to leave a rotten fence post alone - just think he was just excited to be out and was making the most of it There is something so lovely about the older dogs and their steadfastness.

Mickey has made it out the other side of rescue in less than a week! Jenny and Dave lost their staffie 3 weeks ago..this was their second staffie and although they had 2 other rescue dogs plus many other animals..life just was unbearable without a Staffie!
So Mickey has gone in tonight making friends especially with Dave! and is licking the other dogs muzzles...he has a big smile on his big smiley face! He will see their vet, begin vax and have his neutering and chip done and if all continues well..Mickey has his family!

Hi Lynne
Mickey is doing really well, at the moment he is cuddled up to Alfie (husky) on the sofa. Which has given me 2 mins to send you a message.
I have found that he is very loving and just wants to please all the time in return for lots of cuddles. I was very pleased to find that he is house trained, he gives me a wiggle and a wag and then out he goes. hes mummys bestest boy with mummys other two bestest boys.
He now shares his love between me and Dave not wanting to ignore one more than the other thats how it seems anyway.
I phoned the rspca about free neutering and they will pay for it, i explained that he has to have a tooth removed and he also needs a chip and they said that would be fine i will be funding that as the woman said the expensive part is the anestetic(however that is spelt) you know what i mean so i will be in a right state that day. As soon as i get the voucher i can book him in, which should be any day now.
All in all everything is fine loving him to bits(so is everyone that meets him)
speak to you soon
i can never thank you enough
love for now
Jenny and Dave
