Marie Red Staffie 3-4 yrs Gatwick (S) W Sussex Kennelled

Her Story: Marie was found stray with another Staffie bitch. They appeared to be together so were kennelled together. They clearly loved each.

Salient points: A classic Staffordshire, with a lively, sweet and emotional temperament of about 4 yrs old. In good health; has been spayed in past.

Advert: Marie is a happy happy dog.. the perfect anti depressant if you like dogs that is!  Fun energy bless her, wearing her heart on her sleeve. She needs an active home and could be homed with her friend  who she was found stray with or in with another dog. She definitely needs a secure garden and active family as she has a lot of interest in L_I_F_E. What a happy happy soul.

Found with her companion and delighted to be in Evette's company. Alas very unlikely to find a home for them together so are looking to home them in with another dog so they continue dog companionship. Marie is a little perturbed when alone but loves people equally perhaps even more so easily comforted. Previously spayed, and now fully vax'd and chipped. Small to medium red staffie. Delight in marie and be sure shew'll delight in you and all you have to offer. Her head is heart shaped in fact she is all heart!

Please visit this Marie's individual thread, in Dogs needing homes in our care on this forum to find out more about her and follow their progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

"Please note that this dog is currently in kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".

Marie was found stray with her friend Evette. They have been kennelled together in the pound successfully 'unclaimed' so coming to us. Arranging neutering in the next few days.

Met Marie...oh she is a live-wire;  high energy bless her..definitely for a large garden and active family. What a happy happy soul. Delighted to be in Evette's company, a little perturbed when alone and almost searching activity. Our vet concluded that she has a scar which mimics a spay-scar so decided very slim risk that she isn't spayed. She therefore had her first vax and was chipped. Small to medium staffie-17 kgs (Evette is 24kgs)

I walked Marie today while a new walker took Evette. Marie is very bouncy and very keen to go on her walk but settles down once outside.  She takes everything in her stride and is friendly to all.  First signs were good on meeting other dogs but as it is so early for her we didn't approach yet. No interest in horses at all but a bit confused by the cows. When I saw her in the paddock earlier she was  on the go the whole time, like a little wind up toy Very Happy

Sue & I took Marie out today with her partner in crime, Evette.
She really is a live wire, always on the go, constantly into everything, she wasn't fazed by the traffic at all.
At the halfway point she took water well and enjoyed a bit of a fuss, but was more interested in getting on with the walk.
On the way back she'd got used to us and calmed down to the point that her and Evette were trotting along side by side.
A lovely little girl whose personality shows through when she calms down Very Happy  I will endeavour to get some photos next week.

Tom and I took Marie and Evette out today. Marie really was the lively one of the two, giving us quite a challenge to get the harness on while Evette looked on patiently. She calmed down on her walk - playful and energetic. We had a close run-in with a chicken that had escaped from the field, which definitely picked up its pace when it saw her! Great fun to walk.

Marie and Evette had their 2nd vaxes today. Colleen and Sylvia were there as was Cassie, their dog.  And that is where the dynamic duo parted.  Evette went off with her new foster family and Marie came home with me. Her energy is everso everso. She is desperately desperately trying to please. I introduced her to 4 of the 5 dogs but 3 of them reacted to her energy. So she has been acquainted but has to be separated sadly currently.  She has enjoyed a lovely walk by the river and met dogs very nicely. Such a dear dear soul.  I would call her a 'concentrated Staffie' Oh so very very Staffie desperate energy to love and love and love; full on in her confusion as to what is expected of her.  I never judge a dog in the first week. We'll let her begin to settle. Sweetness itself....

Well sadly just 24 hours with me...but I got to know the girl! We have had to put Evette back into kennels as she was wanting to play with Cassie her foster brother and cassie doesn't do 'play'..and couldn't put Evette back without Marie.

Marie came in hyper and despite that met my dogs well. She mixed with 3 and then a 4th but her energy was too high for them; they became too interested and this unsettled her. I would have gone through to joint walking etc. but by evening I was aware she had to go back into kennels so kept her separate.

She did a few cries last night and could hear her pacing but she settled by herself. She had a wonderful walk by the river this morning. A border terrier pup ran up and continued to lay in her path. She smelt it and it represented itself she smelt it again, and again until finally its owners cries were heard. She then gatecrashed a off the lead party of dogs  and mixed nicely whilst the owners told me Battersea have 95% staffie now you know...yes I know! Aren't they lovely dogs!!!!  Marie had settled so enjoyed the front of the car passenger position for the entire 5 hour journey. Settled beautifully and was 'my friend!'

Reintroduced her to Evette and all seemed well and then they started to position themselves towards each other. Walked apart then back together still not good.  I drove them back to Croydon kennels to the staff that knew them and left them to reintroduce them without myself as part of the dynamic (" my mum!")

Crying or Very sad  Would love to have kept her in foster. She settled so well just in 24 hours and I was able to meet the kind, loving and dear dear dog behind that whirlwind nervous energy which represents her when she is in a position of not knowing what is happening around her.

Can't believe I didn't put these pictures up of Marie who shared my home for 24 hours bless her.

Dear Marie travelled to her new kennels.  She mixes well with dogs but can get excited and when she does she starts to bark. When Evette and she were reintroduced they were fine for a moment then a repeat of the incident of re-introductions after 24 hour fostering occurred and Marie began to get excited and bark. Evette was fine but wasn't having Marie near her and barky so barked back.  We concluded it wasn't right to mix them so they went to their separate kennels Sad

Marie is just a little dynamo - she is go go go all the time. She did get slightly tired but only for a moment before she got going again. She  needs a good day out sometime.

Marie was a little bit under the weather today so I just had a quick jog to the end of the field and back instead of a big energy burn I had planned. I just want to help her use some energy so she can connect calmly with me.  Once she learns to connect better I'm sure she will improve in all sorts of ways but at the moment she is just too busy - she needs so much more than kennels can offer.

took Marie out today. She is just so happy to get attention, but hasn't quite mastered that if she sat still instead of bouncing around, it would all happens o much more quickly! A real little live-wire.

took Marie out with Mr Bing - I feel she was calmer with him there and they got along extremely well. as her nails were very long, we gave her a run in the paddock and then Alison gave her a cuddle while I trimmed her front claws. She does have huge energy, but is a real foodie, and I think eminently trainable. She did some lovely recalls across the paddock off-lead. Really nice little girl

Marie was happy to be out and about but underneath she was 'worried' Hard to say how a dog makes sense of months on in.. waiting.

She has intrinsically a sunshine personality..a truly wonderful staffie who will make a fabulous family dog with face washes gifted with generousity!
