MacTarn Patterdale 2 yrs Farnham Surrey Kennelled

MacTarn came into rescue a year ago with mange, poss. ex worker and was very thin.  He was homed and has since been lovingly cared for fully vax'd, neutered & exercised.  He is used to being left all day with a lunchtime visit with no problems. Sadly MacTarn grabbed a 'Pom' dog that was off the lead and rushed over to him obviously mistaken for a 'furry friend!'  He didn't shake, but as it was the next door neighbours, his owner couldn't face her despite no damage done and has surrendered to Terrierrescue.

He is lovely Super Duper Patti!

Still haven't got a good picture of MacTarn batteries ran out.

MacTarn is a little shy of the dogs in the kennels as he goes through the corridor. He then embraces his walk and oh yes how lovely..what a wonderful day it is today.  MacTarn is so much the Patterdale; a real people dog, very loving and he has a nice even temperament. He meets dogs well. He is a smiler..love his cotton socks!

I am amazed that our terriers are still sitting there..MacTarn deserves his family.  We had a lovely walk yesterday.  Forgot the camera..so must go back soon.

What a stunning boy Mac is.  Enjoyed his company so much today.  A pleasure to walk and to watch the little fella have a paddle to cool off..

So handsome

So lovely walking MacTarn.  Yes it was hot but we kept in the woods most of the time. His fur is like 'felt'  He loves his cuddles and he will always come back and sit or stand close to you. Difficult to take a picture, but oh so lovely a soul to capture in your heart.

Lovely walk with macTarn today stuck mainly in the woods to shelter from the heat. Have replaced a couple of awful pictures which were placed earlier on his thread doing him more justice.  Here however is the BESTest. Lovely calm terrier..his home will come soon.

MacTarn has gone into Foster but I suspect if there is anyway his family can keep him by rearranging their lives they will.  So have placed him under reserved until we're clearer how things are paning out.

Thank you!!
Mac has taken to his new surroundings extremely well, he's charged up & down the garden, explored the bedrooms and tried out each bed - think  he liked mine the most- and has had a wash and brush-up (which he loved). He is stilll full of energy and seems very cheerful. My kids are absolutely head-over-heels too! Going out for a walk now. Will send a photo via my mobile if we get a good 1 in the next few days.

Any news on how he is doing?
xxlynne

MacTarn is doing really well. He had had an episode with 2 separate dogs over the summer so the family have started to adorn a muzzle on his walks.  He is doing well on the muzzle as he is almost 100% trustworthy with dog so they are able to allow him contact with dogs and keep his confidence up. Brandy and I went over there 2 weeks ago and Alice found it helpful and wanted to keep trying. I called 2 days ago. The son said they are keeping to walking him on a muzzle and love him very much. They have arrange a dog walker to come in in the middle of the day when they return to school (Alice is a teacher)

Mac (Tarn)  invited me in today with the air of oh hello come in nice to see you after all this time. He was so happy in himself. So loved by all. His little ways have been discovered; managed and accomodated. He is the perfect weight. His fur is wonderful in such good health. Such a loving boy you can see how much he has worked on each one to win their adoration. No he isn't perfect but perfect in his own ways and becoming more perfect with each day! Wonderful Patterdale specimen.

Signed sealed and licked! Mac Tarn is offically HOME

Sadly Mac (Tarn) came back into our care on the 16th Oct. With the adult out of the household in France his 2 custodian teenagers had a fight and Mac rushed in and bit the one waving his arms at the other (in fact to disperse hairspay in amongst shouting).

Advice was for intense trust rebuilding but attempted without focused follow through. As Dee said any dog would have got involved, just the teenagers lack of awareness of how to behave with a dog in the house. House became a teenage pad in mum's absense with Mac being held upstairs whilst friends came around as now fearful of him. Mac was extremely distressed so I took him out and gave him a lot of loving reassurance. Now back with Alyson and friends at Gatwick (N) kennels where they all welcomed him back with such warmth.

Here is Mac travelling in the front of the car to my home keenly looking at the 'night world'

Met a close friend today. Lots of kisses and cuddles then off on our walk. I revelled in his accomplishments as a terrier. His keen little eyes; picking up a scent or two; frolicking in play mode in places;
his postures so 'Patti'  Patterdale Anonymous fans be heard!

Hello everybody,
We miss Mac dearly at our house Sad I really hope everything works out for him, and I know that he's made the 4 months he was with us , the best of our lives. He's an amazing dog, and I know someone out there is just right for him. I hope he never forgets us because I know I will never forget him. Good luck Mac
We miss you MacTarn!
Thank you Rescue Remedies for giving him another chance Very Happy

Mac and I had a wonderful walk in the sunshine. I thought it was really going to rain today but we just blew away the clouds.  He reacted to the dogs going back to his kennel..I was forewarned as he had a little go leaving.. but he deflected his tension on to my trouser leg but it was sensitive in what he was doing. Wonderful terrier Laughing

Lynne, if you fancy a day chicken testing you bring that gorgeous boy over here for an afternoon!!

Hope he finds a lovely home soon, I wish I was in a position to give him a shot.

Janet walked Mactarn today.  He behaved well and everyone enjoyed themselves
Janet

Yes, Mactarn was very well behaved we really enjoyed our time together. He was very focused on his walk and very busy checking out everything that moved - even the leaves falling from the trees.

We did stop a few times for me to make a fuss of him, and although he was happy to be stroked and cuddled he was also keen to get back to exploring! He's a lovely boy:)

Mac caught my eye...I hadn't time but I made time so off we went into the woods together with the wind and rain. THEN the loud thunder claps and I looked down and thought where has Mac gone..

I had an angel dog walking to heel beside me slowly and connected..and he walked like that for the rest of the walk with frequent glimpses up towards me. He wasn't nervous but just 'adapted and cautious'

Walked Mactarn today - he thoroughly enjoyed being in the sunshine, and was a pleasure.

Mac has moved to Farnham Kennels today. He had a short walk before his journey.
Janet

Had a lovely walk with Mac today. He was very quiet at the beginning of our walk, not showing much interest in anything - poor little guy must wonder where he is now.

He perked up a lot when we were walking near the road and was quite interested in the cars. Then he went into terrier mode when we saw a few squirrels and he started to look around and investigate the woods a bit more.

When I left him in his kennel, he was bouncing up and down, trying to have a look at Buddy in the next kennel, so he'd definitely cheered up!
Janet

Mac and I walked together in the rain today - he didn't mind at all and really enjoyed a rub down when we got back.

He's very easy to walk, doesn't pull much even when he's seen something he needs to check out and comes back when called. As with my own terrier, he likes to do his own thing when out walking and then enjoys lots of fuss when the walk's over. He's a lovely little guy  Smile
