Lucy - Staffie x Visla (Furry Friends)This is the delectable Lucy...
She is quite a different picture than when I first met her, a quivering mess in the kennels car park. Lucy was picked up found wandering about someone garden. She was so hungry that she was eating birdseed. Indeed, she was a skinny girl and I could see every bone in her body. The pound had done little to put weight on her. I suppose the stress of being in a dog pound in the first place did her no favours. Poor Lucy could not actually stand she was so afraid and when I stroked her side to try and calm her she defecated in fear.
She is only about 10 months old, just a baby and to SO scared of people made me wonder what she had been through.
I had to carry her through to the big field at the kennels so that she could meet my gang. But what a different dog when she was allowed to mix with a pack of confident dogs. It was almost an instant transformation.
Lucy lives happily with my own four dogs and due to an influx of dogs at the moment, also shares her space with a deaf Border Collie of about two years old (who she plays with lovely), two 14 week old puppies, an elderly Jack Russell and soon to be, a 7 week old Staffie x shar-pei (also deaf.)
She also takes no notice of my four cats or any of the small caged animals here (except that she likes to nick their food when she can! )
Lucy and Mindy
Lucy has been kid tested but seems uncomfortable around them. She showed no aggression but warily watched them, so I think it fair not to home her with children as I want her to be relaxed and happy in all aspects in her new home.
Lucy can be suspicious of strangers which comes of no surprise. She has been badly treated in the past and has to realise that not everybody is going to hurt her. With correct intros and kind treatment this should progress well over time. She just needs to be given a fair break.
Lucy can be a bit of a food thief but she is learning commands such as 'Leave it!' and progressing well. Although when your back is turned she is an opportunist!
Lovely Lucy has been spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped plus is up to date with worming and flea treament.
If you can offer her a home please let me know.
Below are some pics of her playing with Frankie-Boy (also currently looking for a home...)

Yes.
Good news indeed.
They are over the moon with her and she lives AND plays happily with her cats. She has had no problems out and about with her with other dogs and she has shown no bad behaviour towards people whilst out and about or in the house.
Thats the Lucy that I know and love. Once confident then she takes life in her stride.
They are very sure that they are going to keep Lucy and she has turned out to be a beach babe in the end! She lives near the seaside.
