Look at my babies!!!Not human of course...they make me
Here are my babies...
These little angelic ferret kits were born to a mum who was handed in as an unwanted pet. She went in to be spayed, but when opened her up to remove the womb they saw it wriggling. They phoned me and asked me what they should do - to carry on with the spay or to sew her back up? They were at least half way developed and moving about so I advised to sew her back up. There was a high chance that she would abort the litter after the womb being exposed, but these guys were strong and weren't going anywhere!
This will be her last litter as when they are 8 weeks old she will be spayed for good!
Totally adorable, handled every day, non-bitey (because they have been handled extremely well from birth) and fear nothing - dogs, cats, other ferrets...anything! Just as a quide, most ferret kits of this age would race back into their nest when a human approached but as you can see they are very people friendly. The main reason that they do not bite is because we never feed dead animals here. Their diets consist of ferret kibble and cooked and prepared meat. Give them a taste of blood and they want more! Give them a good diet and they have no reason to be aggressive.
