London Pooches and Pals next Dog Walk!London Pooches and Pals Meetup Group have sent the following info on their next dog walk:
What: GREENWICH PARK MEETUP
When: August 2, 2009 1:00 PM
Where:
Greenwich Park
Blackheath Gate Charlton Way
Blackheath
020 8858 2608
| Quote: | Hi Pooches and Pals,
Our next meetup will be a walk for the dogs in Greenwich Park, following which we can walk down to Greenwich for food and/or drink by the river. The Cutty Sark public house has a large outdoor area by the river and this might be a pleasant place to finish up.
As its in Greenwich I will invite my other group, The South East London Social Networking Meetup Group, but it will be stressed that the meetup is primarily for the dogs and a lot of walking and hopefully resting on the grass (weather permitting) will happen before we visit the riverside pub.
As the weather has been mixed this month, please check back on the day that this meetup can still go ahead, any thunderstorms and I suggest we cancel for obvious reasons.
Look forward to seeing everyone and good weather,
Lisa and Casey Four Paws.

Announcing a new Meetup for London Pooches and Pals Meetup Group!
What: A stroll through Kennington Park...
When: August 23, 2009 1:30 PM
Where:
Kennington Park
Kennington Park Road Kennington
Lambeth
...and maybe a stop-off at a dog-friendly pub in the area on the way home.
"Hello everyone,
Well the weather forecast for the week ahead is glorious, save for maybe a thunderstorm on Thursday. Unfortunately I have not yet seen a weather forecast for Sunday 23rd August but hoping it will be pleasant at least and if not our Kennington expert, Robert, can suggest a nice dog-friendly pub for us to take shelter.
Kennington Park is a pleasant park within easy walking distance of at least two tube stations, Kennington and Oval although its a small park certainly not on the same scale as larger parks such as Hyde Park
I would suggest, if you can, using Kennington tube station as it has a lift, more friendlier for the dogs than Oval's long escalator. From Kennington tube station turn left and walk along Kennington Park Road and we will meet just inside the first park entrance that you come to.
A little more about the park itself:-
With a long and fascinating history, Kennington Park contains areas managed for their heritage value as well as ones with a more modern layout. The park contains many mature and historic trees, as well as open areas and spaces for wildlife and biodiversity. The park contains a popular café, an 'old English' flower and herb garden, rose beds and a new 'Green Link' which now connects the older Victorian park to the newer extension. Café, dog exercise area, flower gardens and loos are all on site.

Announcing a new Meetup for London Pooches and Pals Meetup Group!
What: Annual Reunion to launch Battersea’s 150th celebrations
When: September 13, 2009 11:00 AM
Where:
Battersea Park
Battersea Park
London
Hi everyone,
This fun event is open to everyone, your dog does not need to have any connection whatsoever with Battersea. Its just a nice way to support their cause. The event is free although entering your dogs into competitions etc will carry a small donation. This will be the third year running that I have been to this event and my dog Casey really enjoys the day out.
Lets meet around 11am at The Rosery Gate entrance of Battersea Park. I will wait for around 15 minutes but please do call if you can't see me - 07751 258976. My dog is brindle colour and I will have a small meetup sign with me.
Battersea Park will become a dog paradise this September for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s Annual Reunion. There will be thousands of owners and their dogs, who will be taking part in lots of fun activities, such as a dogs’ tea party, fancy dress and a dandiest dog competition. There will also be a funfair, a ‘doggie dancing’, or heelwork to music display, pet tag engraving and much, much more.
As part of their 150th anniversary celebrations, Battersea is hoping to gather lots of stories which they can use in their magazines and maybe even in the press. Maybe you rehomed a dog or cat from Battersea decades ago, have a heroic hound or courageous cat or your parents, or even grandparents, told you stories about Battersea in days gone by – if so, they'd love to hear all about it! So, if you’re a dog or cat lover, a Battersea lover, or you have a fantastic story to tell, why not come along to their Annual Reunion on 13 September and join in the fun. You can also email paws@battersea.org.uk to tell them your story.

Hope you can come along with your dog/dogs. The event finishes around 4pm-4:30pm and so its a whole day out.
