Jakey Working Lakeland 2 yrsJakey
Jakey was taken in by a family 3 weeks ago from a family who were emigrating to Madrid. They had used electric fencing to keep him in a insecure garden but also over the front door so they could have it open in the summer. They also hand operated a remote to his shock collar! He had learnt a clicking of the tongue signalled do any more and you get a shock. Jakey came into the family frightened of the outside yet so affectionate and needing to be close. He however would get 'fear episodes' usually instigated from fear of rejection pushing him off a lap or bed. Bless him he got worse and the family had lost their faith in their ability to manage his 'fears' and skill deficit. He would twitch even when asleep he had lived on his nerves for so long. Such a sad story of a dog who had learned humans were the hands of torture and the outside was a mystery behind a 'biting' fence which electricuted him through his collar.
After spending days on the phone and emails with myself (we couldn't put him in kennels and didn't know of anyone who could take in the next few days able to manage Jakey as he had never mixed with dogs). The family decided Jakey needed such a specialist home which they couldn't wait months for. Jakey was offered Peace with such love.
