Mini Jack as I call him came with me to the vets today for neutering. He was reported to have a 'bad chest' which cumulated in a cough to clear it. Jack was neutered but found it hard to breath afterwards and so the vet did an x-ray to find a slight murmur on the heart; a slight enlargement of the heart but not in anyway significant and a little fluid on the lungs. She felt with the treatment he had today she didn't want to administer further medication which would interfere with the healing of the neutering site. I was concerned over Jack's breathing in the car and was cursing the fact I'm not able to bring an extra dog into my house. He so needs loving care. Reported concerns to the kennel staff. I was informed the kennel manager took him to another vet two hours later as he was having difficulty breathing. Our vet sent details through and I will make contact in the morning.

Jack is much better having spent Friday evening in an oxygen kennel. He is now in foster with Nicki who manages the cattery at his kennels. She is very keen to home him so we are watching to see how it goes 'in the cattery!' over the next few days
