How did you cope with Firework night?

How did last night go for you with the fireworks - good and bad?

Karl and Bella barely noticed, lol, in fact about 8pm last night they came and stood in the garden with me, and watched the display in the village which is about 1 mile away.

Bella got bored and started rooting about for the treats I sometimes hide in the garden, Karl got cold and went for a little lie down on the hearth in front of the fire & keep Mick company

As we've only had Bruce for 10 months we really didn't know how he was going to react.

In Bruce's little mind he thought that every bang of a fire work was a car door and barked his head off by the window expecting visitors  Rolling Eyes after a few barking sessions he realised no one was there and settled nicely in his bed for a sleep.

We had been advised to do a garden test, before going for a walk, to see how he would react to the noises and smells..... well as soon as the back door was opened he was off down the garden running around in circles barking in to the sky, sniffing the air like a dog on a mission!  Laughing which was a funny sight, but i'm sure very annoying to the neighbours, needless to say he didn't get his evening walk untill after 10pm when all the fire works had stopped.

So all in all i'd say a success - yes some work needed to stop the barking.
lets see what Saturday brings when all the large displays in the area commence.

Didn't actually have too many round us.

One garden display two gardens away, so they were quite loud. For the first 10 mins Tee-J lay on the sofa, then woke up when one of us tried to sit down, and decided that he wanted to go and see what the banging was...kept woofing and trying to get out.

He went out for his walk as normal, apparently one went off quite close and he was fine (although attention was on a cat on the opposite side of the road at the time  Laughing )

Managed to walk 3 of my four tonight.  Holly heard a distance rumble of fireworks and put her brakes on at the door!  Crying or Very sad Would have tried walking her with the others, but she is absolutely petrified.
