Little one was tenderly cared for by Rachel who bought all her supplies on her day off today. Rachel wrote a handover sheet for Jo (Cooper's mum) who is a Vet. Nurse and is nursing little one until the 7th August.

I wish her all the best, makes me so mad and sad to know people are capable of doing this kind of thing to something so defenceless makes you wonder if they have souls at all.

Honey has arrived safely to Allen abode cuddling Marjorie (mummy Allen) all the way back from Jo's. Jo and family have done the hardest part of the work with Honey and she is a very healthy fat little soul. Vet gave all clear today and says start weaning in a few more days. Cannot mix with pack for 3days but after that I am hoping Ruby might do some dog nursing and care for her. We shall see.
All well and she is a real cutie. Vet thinks she is a staffie but we shall see.

Honey had a good night. Her middle of the night feed took awhile for her to finish, however, we got there in the end. The 7 am feed didn't touch the sides. Had to enforce breaks.
She slept with a husky last night for company - a toy one I add. We want her to be dog focussed and this dog toy is very cuddly and bigger than her and she loves to snuggle deeply into it and sleep.
By Sunday she can meet the rest of the real pack here which will be interesting.
Jo did such a great job with Honey training as young as this like a mother would to do all her toilet before and after feeding.
To see this little thing throwing herself out of her bed towards you as she hears your voice, weeing and then charging towards you again is just amazing. Didn't know you could train without mum so early and successfully. So as I said Jo did hardest part.
Me - we will start weaning slowly from 3 weeks and slow introductions to dogs. Will get wormed and anything else that needs doing. Really lovely dog how could she not be at this age.

Jilly asked me to put these photos up, she promises to do better next time and get the right end!
Personally I think she just wanted her husky toy dog up on the forum cos with 6 dogs in the house she is running out of material, but we can fix that!

You know what her face looks like Jo did great photos I just wanted to show some snuggling. She loves husky.
Honey has started lapping and really enjoys eating that way now. We still suckle the last little bit of milk so she gets comfort and cuddles before bedtime - spoilt not me. Ruby was introduced and did start to look like something she would like to eat so maybe not going to be foster mummy.
Good old Rex wagged tail and looked very fatherly at her. Maybe meet more of the pack tomorrow.
She is a very lovely gutsy girl. Love the way she charges out of her bed to greet when she hears your voice.

Honey is coming on leaps and bounds - literally. You can see her growing every day in her behaviour. She runs to you when she hears your voice and wags her tail on getting to you.
She is eating solids squashed down with a little water to a good pasty food. Nothing puts her off, a true cheeky character.
She is very clean performing on her puppy pads before or after eating. I still do one night feed but she is so sweet it is no hardship to spend some one to one time with her.
She chews you so mum and I have started squeaking when she does and she will stop when she hears that. We, in our own sad little way are trying to make it more like a dog than a human world for her.
She has met all the pack now and all of them and Ruby is very sweet with her. Obviously hold her while they all sniff her but I think it is good for her to get doggy smells.
We walked around garden today as well this morning to get new smells.
She is a lovely girl coming on very well, soon will be eating normally which will be easier for her eventual forever home. Sweet sweet dog

Honey doing really well. Just discovered her bark which took me by surprise when she first did it. She is a lovely girl who struts around after her meal and really loves to play and have a cuddle at the end of each meal time.
She is growing so fast and developing in some new way every day. We are getting some good tips from people who have hand reared before which is good for me.
I cannot recognise the puppy I picked up just over a week ago. Bigger gaps between meals now which makes life much easier. She loves her solid food and laps all her milk up in record time. We always end up with a bottle before bed and a cuddle. Her growling is so funny it sounds like purring.
Another couple of weeks and then she is off to a lovely lady who will help with her development. Lovely lovely girl

Does anyone have any idea of what breed of dog she might be - maybe staffy? I'm just guessing, though.

We always put the breed of dog in the heading of the thread - she is likely to be English Bull or Staffie.

We had a lovely evening at Jilly's yesterday which was topped of by puppy feeding time! Wish I could convey just how gorgeous Honey is - that lovely puppy smell and wonderful little growling noises she makes when she snuggles. She is a fast as lightening so wasn't easy to capture! Exceedingly cute ... see for yourselves ...

Honey is amazing now. She has grown up so much in the last few days. She has been wormed a second time and all went well. She is so clean in her pen and when she is out running around it is a credit to previous foster mum.
She can growl and loves to chew the bottom of my mums trousers and pyjamas, her pink ones are her favourite. She even found them the other day on the radiator and I swear dragged the leg until they came off and took them over to her food bowl as if she was going to eat them.
She is a lovely dog all play and rough until suddenly we are so tired we snuggle up in our blankie and fall asleep in my arms.
She will be missed when she goes. Not the sleepless nights and feeds but the sheer pleasure of having such a sweetie to play with each day.

Well my lovely time with Honey is drawing to an end. She is being upgraded to a bigger puppy family with Auntie Dee so she can learn to socialise. I cannot imagine what she will think of her ready made siblings - I think she will love it.
She loves playing with Rex and Evie very supervised but it will be nice to be with someone her own size.
I think she is a real gem and a cheeky girl who will find a lovely forever family very soon.
Dee is doing a brilliant job with all these little souls so a better home she could not be going into. So I hand over the little sweetie with great confidence not to mention relief nothing went wrong while I had her and look forward to updates.

Well Honey arrived here at the mad house in beautiful conditon and looking extremely beautiful and big compared to our little chaps!!
Big thank you to Jilly.
Honey not too sure how to communicate with other puppies lots of growling and over excitement but to be expected really as she has had no siblings to play with before so this all very new for her.
Bit fraught for first few hours but after every one had had a sleep things much improved.
We had put a seperate crate in the pen next to the big crate to give Honey her own spce which she gladly took up! She was at first reactive to any pup even going by but again after all had had a sleep she was much calmer and then Dolly and Marco decided to move in with her. They both snuggled down and then Dolly snuggled up to Honey. Honey initially not too sure. Was nearly dropping off her head kept wobbling but she would not lay properly down. Then along came Brad and Amy followed swiftly by Polo and Boris. Honey eventually laid down and then decided she wasn't quite comfortable so walked over all the others to get herself right in the middle. Very, very happy to be centre of the puppy pile! LOL
She has really taken to having this close contact and all of the other puppies have accepted her into their pile with no problems. So lovely to see her snuggled up.
Things contiuning to improve outside the sleep pile. Honey still a little in quckly and sounding very loud and harsh but others much less reactive today and think they are begioning to slowly understand each other.
Fed also with the others this morning and absolutely no problems with food around anyone.
They are all off to the vets for first 6 week injection this morning.
7 puppies off to the vets - oh my! Not entirely sure how we are going to manage!! LOL

Thanks Dee for the update. It is so lovely to hear she is settling in so well. Mum and I did feel we may have given you the school bully with your 6 little angels however, she is lovely and enthusiastic.
It sounds great the others have realised she is a little loud and keen. This will be so good for her and her socialisation. I can't believe the chances of us getting another group of puppies her age. Hats off to you and John for doing such a great job. It is a lot of hard work for you guys but such lovely rewards.
My mum failed as a fosterer by crying most of the way home after dropping Honey off with me but loved meeting you all.

You coped like the true pro you are Dee! Mind you it did help that they were such angels!!
I had the real pleasure of being on duty at the surgery when the puppies came in this morning - didn't mind one little bit that I had to work on a Saturday when I saw who was booked in. Blimey, they are GORGEOUS!

LOL Donna True Pro well that could be interpreted in more than one way!! LOL
Honey continuing to do well and building confidence with the other puppies.
She is excellent with the bigger dogs and readily play bows before them with any interest shown in her. Missy wants to play with her very badly but has not quite got the confidence but she will have soon. Honey did try chasing Missy but Missy beat a hasty retreat. Well it hard work being a scary Dobbie you know
Honey had her first vax and was micro chipped today and behaved like the little lady she is

Honey just doing amazingly well with all the others.
Is definitely a lot quicker in her movements than the others. Much more of a live wire.
Also leading the others astray in the way of showing them how to climb stairs (though she has not yet mastered coming back down. Gets to the top and then cries to be picked up!) and knows her way from garden to kitchen and utility room and back again!! LOL
This is her having a serious moment (probably deciding what mischief ways she can lead the others into today! LOL) :
She is just adorable and is really loving having other pups to snuggle up with. She is always bang in the middle of the puppy pile and as soon as she starts to tire is always the forst to find some one to snuggle up next too, even if that particular pup is still playing! LOL

What fantastic, devoted, caring people you all are!
I recently joined the site and am currently "getting to know" the dogs. I can only read 2 or 3 a day before I get thru my quota of tissues, (tears of laughter, joy, sadness, rage and humility) Today I read Honey's story and went thru the full range of emotions.
Is there any sponsership to be gained from a tissue company?

My little Honey a mischief maker - as if. She really has got that look on her face as if to say what can I do next and catching up with Dee she does seem to be the ring leader. How hard can it be to lead 6 little puppies a stray.

HoneyHi all it's faye here....
Honey is amazing, she is loving the pub not quite got her trained behind the bar yet, but there is still loads of time.
Alfie was a little unsure at first but has grown to love her.....either that or she would of pounded it into him ( yes she still is a naughty little madam)
Alfie and honey share a bed, they take it in turns who's bed but they are normally somewhere snuggled together, although he does get a little annoyed when she falls asleep on his head or between his legs (we thought it was strange to)
She gets to hang out with bella an toby who at first was ever so slightly scared of the hugeness of toby but soon broke the ice by nibbleing his bum and hanging on to his facial hair.
Both bella and honey have also met up with boris and they were back to their usual naughty selves.
Once again pics coming very soon...... they are going to be cute be warned!!!

This is what I love about our Rescue, along with the lovely people. We get to keep in touch with the little souls who have touched our lives.
My mum still remembers the tug of war Honey used to play on the bottom of her pink pyjamas with the morning feeds. We loved having her here so much and my mum is desperate to see how grown up she is now. It is just so lovely for all of us previous carers to know she is in a loving safe home with a wonderful family who love her so much - and a pub to play in. It doesn't get much better than that.
Keep up the updates we love to catch up and photos please so my mum and I can see how grown up the "little madam is now".
Thanks for caring for her.
You great families out there - I don't know if you realise how happy you make us feel.
