Hi, a little bit about me and my dog. (with pictures)Hi everybody. I love this terrier rescue site, I can not stop reading the forum so decided to join and introduce myself. Although it is with great sadness that I came across the site, my poor little terrier cross "Wizard" passed away on 15 July and I was looking at terrier pictures on the internet as a sort of comfort as they do make me smile and remind me of all wizzys good times..
So anyway I will be coming back here quite often and I am hoping to eventually love another one.
Pictures of my little Wiz, bless his heart.
i will post some better pictures tomorrow, as it seems i can not upload any this evening.

Hi Nicole and a very big welcome to our pack. So sorry to hear that you have lost Wiz and we hope you will find some comfort amongst friend on this forum. Perhaps given time you may also find another special terrier friend.
I found one of your photos that you were probably trying to upload of Wiz on the gallery at the bottom of the index page so have uploaded it here for you. He is one lovely boy.
Once again welcome to our forum and give me a shout if you need any help.

Sorry to hear about Wiz. After losing my Parsons Jack Russell Maisie in June 2007 at the age of 10 - thought we had so much more time left...., like you I trawled through all of the dog sites just to look at the pictures of all the similar terriers. You've certainly found the right site here with lots of nice people. Don't be sad...sounds like you gave Wiz a wonderful life.

Hi
Tanks for your kind words, can't explain how i feel, it is very sad, went up the garden this morning to talk to him in his special corner, and I still long for him to come home, i suppose time is the only healer.
Love you Wiz - god bless.

Gosh, if you hadn't have said he was 10, I'd have thought it was related to my old girls (they'd be 17 now). He looks almost the spitting image of Suzi (slightly less grey, but exactly the same size, and body shape!).
We also found this website (well, Terrier Rescue anyway) after Suzi's sister, Alice was PTS. It took us 3.5 weeks after she had gone to actually look at the photos, but we soon ended up with another terrier to cry on...

Our whole house is covered with his pics, they are on the fridge in the front room, up the stairs and we all have pics by our bedside that way he is with us all the time.
He actually had the run of the house and slept in our room, his absence is too much to bear.
We got Wizzy (Wizard was his name as he was found at Halloween ) when he was about 2 years old in the dog rescue in Newbury we instantly fell in love, we did not necessarily want a terrier , we just wanted a rescue dog as our new family member.
He got under our skins instantly with his funny terrier ways, but was troubled with a bad leg and had to have it broken and re set (apparently could have been an accident before we got him) his bad leg was shorter than the other and he would often run around on his 3 good ones - however it didn't hold him back when on the daily rabbit chase - pigeon chase - cat chase and anything that moved chase.
he would bury his sausages(his favourite treat) in the garden and roll them around in the dirt before deciding they were yummy enough for him to eat and then casually stroll back in with a small pile of dirt on the end of his nose - always a give away that he had been up to mischief in the garden.
His favourite games were his tennis ball and chasing the hose pipe he was also partial to a game of footy!!
In the last month of his life he was plagued with difficulties, he had liver problems and tore a ligament in his bad knee, un beknown to us he had a heart murmour too, then one night we rushed him to the vet where they found cancerours tumours which had burst his artery and had led to internal bleeding. I am only relieved that he didn't suffer too long before going on his journey to the angels.
Not sure we will ever recover , it was a pleasure to be his family
We love you Wiz forever and ever
