HelloHi
I found my way here after having my fell terrier put to sleep on Monday gone. He had terminal liver cancer so we had been living day to day for a while.
Not looking for sympathy as he was my best friend for the last 12 years and I know I did the kindest thing for him. Was abandoned at the vet practice where my sister in law worked suffering from malnutrition and scarcoptic mange. She asked if we would take him if they made him better. I didn't want a dog but on seeing him my heart just melted. He was my lapdog, my shadow and the best friend anyone could ever have.
He was also a "proper" terrier. Fiercely protective of his home and if you came into "his" house it was on his terms. I have a flap in my backdoor so that he had the freedom to go out in the back garden and all I'll say is that my windowcleaner could not clean my back windows if I wasn't home.
As a youngster he would also "dig" for England. Nor sure where he was trying to get to but there was always a massive hole waiting for us when we got home. Fortunately he grew out of that trick lol!
When I knew that his life was coming to an end I was quite adamant that there wouldn't be another but all I can think of is getting another dog. Not to replace him because that could never be, but to fill the massive gap that he has left in my life and I feel that I could give another little dog that has not had the greatest start in life a good home.

Hi Lisa, a very warm welcome to you.
So sorry to hear your very sad news but how lovely he has helped you find us.
There are always "proper" terriers around our sites, Lynne very big terrier person.

Hi Lisa
nice to have you aboard! some are always special, but our lives would have been so much poorer without them. I'm sure there's another dog out there who will fill your life and give you endless joy.
